Question

Do I need a visa to travel to Brazil ?

Answer

Yes — if you’re a U.S. passport holder, you will need a tourist visa (e‑Visa) to enter Brazil. Starting April 10, 2025, Brazil has reinstated visa requirements for travelers from the U.S., Canada, and Australia. But don’t worry — the process is completely online and pretty straightforward. 🖥 How to get your e‑Visa: Apply through the official Brazilian e‑Visa portal: 👉 brazil.vfsevisa.com 📋 You’ll need: A valid U.S. passport (with at least 1 blank page) Proof of return or onward flight Basic travel details (dates, where you’re staying) Possibly a recent bank statement or pay stub 💳 Cost: Around $80 USD 🕐 Processing time: Usually about 5 business days — but we highly recommend applying at least 6–8 weeks in advance just to be safe. 🖨️ Once approved, you’ll receive a digital visa to print and bring with you when you travel. If you’re coming from a different country, check the visa rules specific to your nationality at your nearest Brazilian consulate or at gov.br.

Question

Will transportation be provided to the venue?

Answer

We’re working on coordinating shuttles or group rides from the main hotels to the venue. Stay tuned!

Question

Is it safe to travel in Salvador/Bahia?

Answer

Like any city, we recommend being cautious and traveling in groups. We’ve chosen trusted accommodations and safe areas for your stay.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

Fly into Salvador International Airport (SSA), also called Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport. This is the closest major airport to our wedding venue in Jauá. From there, it’s about 45 minutes by car.

Question

What’s the best way to get from the airport to the venue or hotel?

Answer

You can take an Uber or arrange a private driver (we’ll help coordinate closer to the date). Taxis are available, but we recommend using Uber or a private driver for safety and convenience.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

There are lots of beautiful places to stay near our wedding venue — from luxury resorts to charming boutique hotels and cozy Airbnbs. Our venue is in Jauá, a quiet beach town in Bahia. While there aren’t many traditional hotel options in Jauá itself, the surrounding areas offer amazing stays that are still just 20–30 minutes from the ceremony. Boutique Hotels in Praia do Forte Praia do Forte is a vibrant beach town filled with boutique hotels, restaurants, shops, and beach bars — a perfect home base if you want a balance of comfort and exploring. Some great picks: Refúgio da Vila Hotel Boutique – elegant, peaceful, close to the beach (~$140–180/night) Hotel Via dos Corais – colorful, tropical, and a great value (~$100–130/night) Porto da Lua Hotel – beachfront and walkable to town (~$150–200/night) 📍 Praia do Forte is ~30 minutes from the venue, and it’s one of the best places in Bahia to relax, eat, and enjoy beachside charm.

Question

Why are most hotels 20–30 minutes away from the venue?

Answer

Great question — and here’s why: Jauá is a peaceful residential beach town, which means there aren’t many traditional hotels or resorts directly next to the venue. And that’s actually a good thing: ✅ The best hotels for visitors are located in Praia do Forte, Busca Vida, or nearby towns, where guests can feel safe, enjoy local restaurants, and really take in the beauty of Bahia ✅ These areas are closer to the beach, more walkable, and full of local charm — perfect for exploring or relaxing before and after the wedding ✅ We’ll help coordinate transport for the day-of, so don’t worry about the drive! If you’re not sure where to stay, feel free to reach out to us — we’re happy to help recommend the best spot for you.

Question

What’s the weather like in August?

Answer

August is dry and sunny in Bahia — think mid-70s to mid-80s °F (24–29°C), with lots of sun and ocean breeze. It’s technically winter in Brazil, but it will feel like a beautiful tropical summer to most of us!

Question

Is it safe?

Answer

Bahia is full of warm people, rich culture, and beautiful nature. Like any place, just stay aware and take normal precautions: Stick to well-lit, populated areas at night Use Uber instead of flagging down taxis Avoid wearing flashy jewelry Travel in groups when possible We’ve chosen a venue and hotel areas that are safe and commonly visited by travelers.

Question

Can I drink the tap water?

Question
