We’re getting married on an island which uniquely requires a boat to get to our celebration. Please check out the Travel & Lodging info page as it layouts out how it will work with the parking lot and taking the ferry over to join our celebration (free service).
Yes! We encourage everyone that has been invited to our celebration to spend the full weekend with us. You are invited to come over to the island to hangout anytime over the weekend as ferries will be running all day. We do ask that you RSVP to our events involving food & alcohol which include the Welcome Party and Wedding Ceremony & Reception. Saturday lunch will not be a formal event, but will be provided on the island if you are hanging out for the day. Please only RSVP for lunch if you are planning to be on the island for it. Lunch will be a wrap, chips, and fruit.
On Friday and Saturday, there will be a final ferry that leaves the island at 12:15 AM. Meet on the dock before then to make sure the island staff knows you need to travel off.
We will have cash bars open throughout the entire weekend and will be serving food and drinks at our weekend events. The restaurant on the island will be closed in preparation for our wedding. We will provide dinner on Friday evening during the welcome party. Continental breakfast is included in your room rate for Saturday and Sunday morning: yogurt, granola, pastries, cereals, juice, milk and coffee are served in the main lodge's dining room. On Saturday, we'll be providing lunch to island guests, but please RSVP for this when you RSVP for the wedding. There is a kitchenette in each of your cabins - so please feel free to pack snacks or any other food you may want throughout the weekend. There is also the option to take the water taxi off the island and go to any of the restaurants/bars in the Birchwood area as well!
On Friday, we ask that everyone joins us in summer cocktail attire! For Saturday, we ask that you wear semi-formal attire. We know we’re getting married in a casual environment but we hope everyone can still treat our ceremony and reception as a Wedding event by dressing nice.
We kindly ask that only those to whom the invitation was addressed attend our wedding.
Guest check-in is after 3pm on Friday. Our welcome party doesn't begin until 6:30pm, but there's plenty to do on the island in the meantime and we'll be there to hang out! There's a swim dock with canoes, kayaks and water bikes; a 1 mile-nature trail for walks; lots of cozy spaces indoor and out for reading; a life-sized chess board, croquet and tennis courts for game playing.
While we love spending time with your kids, we are asking that our wedding be child-free. There will not be childcare provided and this is an adults-only weekend (with the exception of the flower girls and ring bearer).
No, please leave all liquor at home. It is against resort policy to bring outside beverages due to Wisconsin law. Please follow these rules accordingly so we can have a fun weekend.
Yes of course! The island is all ours for the weekend, so even if you aren't staying there, hop on the ferry and come over to enjoy all the amenities!
Yes! If you would like to extend your stay on Stout Island, please contact Zach or Andrea, and we will make sure your room reservation is extended for the additional days.
