Are children allowed? We love your little ones, but this weekend is adults-only so the grown-ups can stay up way past their bedtime! Can I bring a plus-one? We are so excited to celebrate this day with our closest friends. Please do not RSVP for anyone not listed on your invitation. Are events indoors or outdoors? All events will be outdoors on natural terrain. Wedges or block heels are your friends! Is there a dress code? Kindly reference "attire" listed under the event details section of our website for event dress codes. Evenings can be cool, so remember to bring a light layer. Is transportation provided for the wedding events? We will provide shuttles for the wedding day so everyone can relax and enjoy. Please reference the event details section for shuttle coordination. For all other events and exploring the valley, guests are responsible for their own transportation. What time should I arrive for the ceremony? We ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior. Shuttle pick ups will be scheduled to coordinate with this timing. What are we having for dinner? Our reception dinner will be catered by Fauna, known for it's relaxed, family style dining. Come hungry and ready to try a bit of everything! If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know in your RSVP.
How do I RSVP? Please RSVP through the link on our website which will be activated once formal invitations are sent. What happens if I do not RSVP on time? If we do not receive your RSVP back by August 15th, we will mark you as not attending. Please RSVP on time so we can save you a seat! What if I need to cancel or change plans? If the universe throws you a plot twist and you can’t make it, just let us know as soon as you can. It really helps us with catering and final planning. We promise we won’t hold it against you… but our dance floor might! Where is your registry? Your presence in Mexico truly is the greatest gift, we’re not expecting any wedding gifts at all. If you insist on giving something, we’d love for you to consider contributing to our Honeyfund instead. Link can be found in the Registry section of our website.
What airport should I fly into? The closest airports are: Tijuana (TIJ) – 1.5 hour drive to Valle San Diego (SAN) – 2 hour drive with border crossing required Los Angeles (LAX) – 4 to 5 hour drive with border crossing required How do I get to Valle de Guadalupe? Valle is a rural wine region, so you will need transportation from the airport to the hotel. Options include: Private driver or shuttle - please reference the Stay section of our website for recommendations. Driving - if you are local to Orange Country or LA and want to drive yourself, this is a safe and easy option. However, we do not recommend renting a car in the US to drive down. Instead, travel via a private transfer service. Uber is not reliable in Valle, so don’t count on it. Do I need a passport? Yes, U.S. citizens need a valid passport to enter Mexico by air or land. Should I worry about customs? The land border crossing into Mexico is usually very quick. The return trip back into the U.S. typically has longer lines. If you are driving yourself and travel internationally even once or twice a year, we highly recommend getting Global Entry, which includes TSA PreCheck and makes re-entry into the U.S. significantly faster and easier. If you are scheduling a shuttle, we recommend booking a return trip with Fast Pass to reduce border wait time.
Where should I stay? We recommend booking one of the three hotel blocks listed under the Stay section on our website. If you would like to book a different hotel, you will need your own transportation to all events, as we will only provide shuttles to/from the hotels listed on our website. Are Airbnbs/VRBOs okay? You are welcome to stay where ever you would like, but there may not be many airbnb options in the area. Is staying nearby important? Yes. Roads are rural, lighting is minimal at night, and distances can be longer than they appear. Try to stay within 10–20 minutes of the wedding venue.
Is Valle De Guadalupe Safe? A lot of people are intimidated by traveling to Mexico. We can assure you that this part of Mexico is safe. You should always practice safety precautions when traveling though, such as: lock your vehicles / keep valuables out of sight in cars or rentals / avoid driving late at night / travel with a group. What will the weather be like? In late September, you can expect warm, sunny days in the high 70s to mid-80s°F and crisp, cooler evenings in the high 50s to low 60s°F. Expect low humidity and very little chance of rain. What is there to do in Valle? So much! Please reference the Explore section of our website for suggestions. Will there be group activities? Yes, we have a few optional group activities listed on the Explore section of our website. We would love if you can join us! Do I need pesos? Most places accept credit cards, but some wineries and small businesses prefer cash. USD is often accepted, but pesos are easiest. Is the water safe to drink? Tap water and your stomach probably won’t become besties. Stick to bottled or purified water to guarantee a good weekend! Most hotels will provide safe drinking water in your room. How is the cell service/Wi-Fi? We recommend contacting your phone carrier to add a travel pass, so that you will have cellular service once crossing into Mexico. Note that some hotels have great Wi-Fi, others are spotty. Download maps/offline directions in advance.
