Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR)

We recommend flying into the LIR (Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport) airport in Costa Rica. This airport is 1 hour away from the venue in Las Catalinas. Flying to Liberia (LIR) instead of San Juan (SJU) will save you hours of traffic and driving in unlit rural roads to get to the Venue.

Vamos Rent-A-Car

Our friends at VAMOS have set us up with a family and friends 25% discount for our wedding. There will be a green VAMOS shuttle waiting for you outside the airport once you arrive. The shuttle will take you to the VAMOS car rental site where you will pick up your car. Any car size will get you to and from the venue (yes, even the smallest 3-door cars). If you plan on doing some more exploring around the Guanacaste region, we recommend an SUV to trek through the dirt roads but 4x4 is not necessary. IMPORTANT NOTES: - To get the discount you must add "Genny and Juan Wedding" to the comments section of your rental reservation. All discounts will be applied once you pay at the counter in Costa Rica. - Costa Rican law requires all drivers to have local liability insurance. You may NOT opt out of this and Credit Card "rental car insurance" does not cover it. Please do not give our friends at Vamos a hard time for abiding by the law. - Do you NEED a car? If you are staying with Las Catalinas, then No (you can arrange transportation with them). Otherwise, YES, we strongly recommend a car as taxis are unreliable. - The quoted price for a small SUV (VITARA 4x2) is $336.34 from March 7th to 11th. Nonetheless, you are free to pick a smaller or bigger car.

Airbnb also has a ton of great options within Las Catalinas and in surrounding beaches and neighborhoods. The apartments and homes in Las Catalinas are great options if you are coming with a group or simply wish to be within walking distance of the beach and wedding venue.
