Hotel

Hotel Tenuta di Artimino member of Meliá Collection

1 Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII, Toscana 59015, Italy

Since we are in the Tuscan countryside and there are no Ubers or Taxis in the area, we are highly encouraging our guests to stay at the venue, where you will have easy access to all wedding events and you will get to enjoy the amenities and stunning views of the historic Italian villa! Please book as early as you can to ensure you get your desired room (as there is limited availability in the different room selections). Please find our room booking link here: https://events.melia.com/en/events/hotel-tenuta-di-artimino-melia-collection/Julia-and-Marvens There are two sections of the hotel - one has your 'standard' hotel rooms and the other has 'apartment' style rooms called the Borgo. You can stay in either section! For more details on the difference between the rooms, please refer to the FAQ section. The room block is available from Friday, May 22 – Monday, May 25, but you’re welcome to extend your stay. For an extended stay or questions please email: wedding.mc.artimino@melia.com. The total number of blocked rooms will be held until January 15, 2026, at which point 50% of the rooms will be released. The remaining rooms will be available until March 15, 2026, so please be sure to book by then if you’d like to take advantage of our discounted room rate. If you are booking after the discount ends, you can book directly on the Melia website. FYI- there may be some issues with payment for booking accommodations, since European businesses require an online payment authorization (3D Secure) to complete transactions. Please refer to the FAQ section for more details on this, but typically it is easily resolved with calling your credit card company while you are making the payment and tell them to allow the transaction to go through or using Apple Pay/Google Pay

Flight

Flights

The closest airport to the venue is the Florence Airport (13 km ~ 30mins) However, if you fly into Rome (Leonardo da Vinci International Airport), we'd suggest hiring a car and taking a scenic drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside, or you can alternatively take a train directly from Rome to Florence

Travel Note

Taxi / Ubers

From Florence you can arrange either a taxi, Uber, or a private transfer through the hotel to Tenuta di Artimino. This will take you around 30-40 minutes from Florence airport. Taxis are usually available outside of the airport and cheaper than Ubers. Shuttle Service

If you would like to book a private shuttle service (either from Rome, Florence, the airport, train stations, etc.) please feel free to utilize this service

Train

Train

If you choose to fly into Rome or Pisa, there is the option to use the train service which can get you to Signa, the nearest train station to Artimino, or you can take a train to Florence (where you can take a Taxi/Uber from there).

Rental Car

Car Rental

By Car: If you plan to stay for a few days, renting a car is best. Tuscany is not like Rome or Milan, the places are spread apart, the towns are small and cozy, and there is little public transport that can be easily navigated. Please also note there are typically no taxis on the road to hail and Uber don't operate across the region. If you would like hire a car we would recommend using SIXT (https://www.sixt.com) and booking in advance and with full insurance. They also offer airport transfers. Keep in mind cars in Italy are often manual by default. If you prefer driving an automatic, make sure to specifically request one when booking! International Drivers Permit Instructions (view below). If you are renting a car to drive through Italy please make sure that the primary driver has a credit card in their name.

Things to Know / Tuscan Essentials

Currency: Like much of Europe, Italy uses euros. Check with your bank before you go to see how conversion in foreign ATMs works and if there’s a charge for using your debit card. In most cases, you’ll find it’s a better rate than old fashion currency exchange offices. Credit Cards and Banks: The majority of places accept credit and debit cards. Do keep cash on hand though for the occasional small business that is cash-only or has a credit card minimum. Unless you’re planning to be out of the city, you’re never far from an ATM, so avoid carrying wads of cash. Voltage: You will need a plug adapter for your electronics. These are easily available on amazon or in the airport if you do not have one. If you plan on bringing a hair straightener or curler, double check that it is either dual voltage or designed to operate using 230 volts, otherwise the fuse will blow and you will break your hair tool. Language: Italian is the official language and it’s good to know a few basics. You’ll find basic English is spoken in tourist areas but don’t expect fluency from everyone you run into.
