FAQs

Question

WHERE DO I STAY?

Answer

We are highly encouraging our guests to stay at the Tenuta di Artimino, the site of our wedding, for the three nights of festivities! The villa is located about 30 minutes from the Florence airport and 40 minutes from the city center. If you are staying at the villa, renting a car is a great option and there is free parking on site. Florence does use Uber and has Taxis, so you can call one to the villa or if you are coming from the airport. However, once you are at the venue, you will not be able to call an Uber since we will be in the tuscan countryside. You can find the link to our room block on the travel tab or here: https://events.melia.com/en/events/hotel-tenuta-di-artimino-melia-collection/Julia-and-Marvens

Question

WHEN IS BEST TO BOOK ACCOMMODATIONS?

Answer

We recommend booking as soon as possible to get your desired room choice! The venue also has a limited number of rooms blocked off with a discount for guests to utilize over the weekend. The total number of blocked rooms will be held until January 15, 2026, at which point 50% of the rooms will be released. The remaining rooms will be available until March 15, 2026, so please be sure to book by then if you’d like to take advantage of our discounted room rate. For any change, operations that cannot be done from the site, or for purchase of extra nights subject to availability, please contact wedding.mc.artimino@melia.com

Question

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ROOM SECTIONS?

Answer

Both are great options! The hotel and the Borgo are on the same property and only a few minutes of a walk from each other. Please find below an overview of both: The Hotel: - Traditional hotel-style rooms for a maximum of two people per room (three categories: Style Rooms, Single Rooms, and Single Extra Rooms) - Standard in size but closest to the welcome party and wedding location - Best option for convenience since events will be centered around the hotel The Borgo: - Apartment-style accommodations with a kitchenette, living room, and more space - Many room options available, including rooms that can accommodate more than two people - A few minutes walk from the hotel, with shuttles available to take you back and forth as well - Where the spa and gym are located

Question

WHY IS MY CREDIT CARD NOT WORKING WHEN BOOKING ACCOMMODATIONS?

Answer

European businesses often require something called online payment authorization (3D Secure) to complete transactions. In the U.S., this feature usually isn’t turned on by default, so if it’s not enabled, your card may be declined when trying to book hotels, tours, or transfers. What to do: - Call the number on the back of your credit card or log in to your online account. - Ask your bank to enable international/online payment authorization or 3D Secure (sometimes called Verified by Visa, Mastercard SecureCode, or American Express SafeKey). - Make sure your phone number and email are updated, since you may receive a text or email code to confirm purchases. Once set up, purchases in Europe should go through smoothly - you’ll just confirm them with a quick text or app notification. We recommend doing this ahead of time so that your bookings and payments in Italy go through without issue. You can also call your credit card company right before / while you are making the payment and tell them to allow the transaction to go through. Additionally, Google Pay and Apple Pay are available and typically don't have issues with booking. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if there are any issues as well as emailing: wedding.mc.artimino@melia.com
