We met at an award show, and some mutual friends called him over to introduce him to me. He was calm but wary because he thought they were trying to be funny. We spoke, and I gave him my Linkedin information but let him tell it when we shook hands, he felt my energy! Right after I had to fly to the DR to perform at one of my friend's wedding, when I returned, We ran into each other at another award show we were both nominated for (me for singing and my non-profit, him for model and author). We knew there was something there worth following. We hugged, spoke, and shared a joke about seeing each other there. This time we exchanged numbers to talk more, and we set up a date to walk in the park to check the temp. Our walk was very cool, I was shy, and he was cool. I told him, "ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be a singer, and one day I would have a chef and personal trainer." With a bright smile, he said, well, you have all of that in me. I'm a chef, a nutritionist, and a personal trainer! When the NEW YEAR came around 2018, my show got postponed; I got additional offers but decided not to work. Instead, we shared an intimate night with candles, roses, Jamaican food, wine, and great energy! That was it! He was hooked, lol. We went on real dates, had real-life conversations, and we just went for it, But, after a few months of dating, I needed surgery for my ACL and a torn Meniscus plus a dislocated shoulder with rehab, this put an immediate halt to my touring and way of life for taking care of boys. My oldest son was a senior in high school; Terrance went to every football game, band concert, track meets, and then COVID-19 hit. We knew if we could weather those storms, we could handle anything together. November 23, 2019, while at Les Browns' House -Terrance proposed. It wasn't as he had planned it out in his mind (as each time he tried to surprise me, I was sick or busy), but for me, it was perfect!
