This love story began at Newberry College in 2011. Casey and Hunter were always studying hard for their exams, like the good students that they were, but even good students, from time-to-time, need to satisfy their hungry minds with an occasional ice cold beer- or seven. So, in typical college fashion, they found themselves at a rousing box social known to many college students as none other than the infamous Toga Party. Drinks were flowing, friends were laughing, and love was in the air. And, in the midst of countless conversations, Hunter found himself captivated by Casey’s undeniable beauty, while Casey found herself swooning over an older, charming young southern man. After that night, Hunter and Casey crossed paths many different times. Their group of friends would often hang out, party together, and go on random adventures like ghost-hunting. After many attempts of Hunter trying to gain Casey's attention, the stars finally aligned and a spark ignited between the two. Hunter and Casey bonded over their love for Asian cuisine, and let’s be honest, eating, in general, and this had become one of the staples of their relationship. And, of course, because this was Newberry, there weren't many Asian cuisine options for the either of them, but Hunter assured Casey that he knew of a great Chinese place that they could visit. They found themselves hanging out more and more as time went on. And so, what initially started out as a seemingly flirtatious friendship, was budding into something much more meaningful. Things got more serious and stakes got high. Hunter decided to go all in. Refusing to let Casey spend the holidays without family, he invited her to enjoy Thanksgiving with his family and friends in Alabama. Ecstatic with joy, Casey accepted his invitation. Since then, they have been inseparable. The rest of their love story is history...
As a child, Casey had visited Disney World twice, but Hunter had been there countless times. For Hunter, it was a tradition of sorts. Casey loved that this was a tradition with his family and wanted nothing more than to be a part of it. Hunter had planned a Disney trip for Christmas of 2019. Hunter and Casey went with Hunter's mom and step-father, Dawn and Wendell, and their friends, Travis and Darla. At the time, Hunter and Casey had been dating for 8 years and were talking about getting married for some time now. When Hunter planned the trip, Casey found herself wondering if he would propose at Disney World, or if he would do it on "Hunter's time”. Leading up to the trip, Casey was very excited, but she was also very nervous. On the first day of the trip, Casey was so anxious and Hunter was a nervous wreck too. He never carried something so expensive in Disney World, hiding the engagement ring in his bag. Now, because Hunter knew Disney so well, he was in charge of the itinerary. The entire morning, Hunter led the group around Disney and they rode on various rides. After lunch, Hunter told the group it was time to watch the parade. Once the parade was over, everyone was talking about how they needed to take pictures in front of the castle. Hunter’s family insisted that Hunter and Casey take pictures in front of the castle first. While everyone was taking pictures of them, for what seemed like forever, Casey started to get impatient- and as she started to question why everyone was taking so many pictures of them, Hunter turned to Casey, he got down on one knee, and in that moment, they both wept the happiest of tears. Hunter asked Casey to spend the rest of her life with him. And it was the happiest day of their lives, at the most magical place on Earth. After almost 10 years together, countless meals, moving across country, and 2 cats later, Casey and Hunter are finally tying the knot. We are so excited to celebrate our new beginning with you! See you in Galena!
