Many people don't know this, but about a year before Alex and Will really met, they were in the same physics class at University of Cincinnati and didn't even realize it. A year later, Will and Alex met again online where they met up at a bar in Cincinnati and they immediately formed a connection. They realized they both had such a similar story; going back to school, both coming from athletic pasts, and having numerous of the same interests, that the rest was history.
Will and Alex are both dog lovers, so after a couple of years of dating, they decided to add a third to their small, loving family by getting their dog, Ladybird! She is a Brittany Spaniel who is a bundle of energy. Will had a Brittany Spaniel growing up, and thought it would be a perfect breed for their addition. Lady for sure keeps them on their toes while adding unconditional love to their family.
On August 3rd, 2019, Will told Alex that he was going to take her out to dinner to celebrate her passing her boards. Will decided to take her to The Mercer in Over the Rhine (OTR) for dinner, which they had been wanting to go there for some time. Alex didn't think anything of it and was excited to finally eat at the trendy restaurant. Following dinner, Will and Alex "decided to go grab drinks" at one of their favorite bars, The Transept, which was just a couple blocks away. To get there, they walked through Washington Park, where little did Alex know, her dad, Gary, and stepmom, Julie, were hiding behind some trees ready to take photos of the proposal. They even had help from a wonderful police officer that was patrolling the festival in the park that day. He helped block off a particular region of the park for the proposal pictures and made sure other pedestrians didn't block or get in the shot. Will knelt down in the middle of the park and asked Alex to marry her. If you ask Alex, she remembers blurting out "YES, OF COURSE!" in excitement and handing Will her hand. However, if you ask Will what happened, he remembers Alex just shoving her hand in his face in excitement. Following the surprised proposal, they were escorted to The Transept by the police officer that helped with the special occasion, where little did Alex know, a lot of her and Will's loved ones had gathered to celebrate. It was a very special day that will be dear to our hearts.
Prior to the pandemic, Alex and Will were on the search to buy their first house together. During the pandemic, while being in an one bed apartment, they really started to realize how much they were in need for some more space. Obviously, this process was a bit more challenging while the world was going through the chaos and tragedy that COVID brought, however, they were able to find the perfect house for them. It was even a couple streets away from where Alex was brought up and was in the same neighborhood that her Aunt and Uncle used to live. It was meant to be!
