Semi-formal attire requested. We realize it is a Michigan Summer - so this may be a very hot day. We want you to be comfortable. While tuxes and gowns are welcome, so are suits with a tie, sundresses and cocktail dresses. We ask that all active duty military members come in their dress uniform. Per the country club, if you are wearing jeans you will be asked to leave the premises. Thank you for respecting their rules.
We invite you to be truly present with us during our wedding with an unplugged ceremony. We kindly ask that phones are turned off and put away until the ceremony conclusion!
In your invitation, you should have received a printed map. Please hold onto this! This map tells you the different locations you are able to park at the time of the ceremony. Anything circled is either a parking lot or available street parking. There will be parking attendants and "Redeemer Parking" signs to direct you as well.
All children are invited to the ceremony with us at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Detroit. Due to limited space, we ask that only those formally invited on your wedding invitation attend the reception at Sycamore Hills. When you RSVP on our website, if applicable, children and/or plus ones will appear under your name as part of your group. Thank you for understanding!
On New Years Eve (12/31/21) Brandon and Maria met and Brandon asked Maria on a date. They spent time in January dating and getting to know one another, and then made it official over the summer when Brandon was on leave. From there, they entered into a long distance relationship traveling between Hawaii and North Carolina and Michigan to spend as much time with each other as possible. When they were not together, they praise God for the good technologies afforded to them to have video calls and phone calls regularly.
From the first date we went on, both of us understood that we were dating with marriage as the ultimate goal. This was a grace to us from the beginning that allowed us to be vulnerable and honest knowing that our relationship had intentionality and direction. Throughout long distance dating, we have been able to enjoy and have many excellent conversations, read many books and enjoy fun games and dates over the evening hours. We have considered long distance to be a gift from the Lord - and are very much looking forward to the day when we can live and be together as one in marriage. Although we may not know every small detail about each other, we are both passionately pursuing Jesus and involvement in our local church. We know that a relationship where Christ is--for both of us--our true and greatest love, we can boldly approach and work through any difficulty as we seek to serve and love one another as Christ serves and loves his church!
