Travel Note
If you are coming from another continent it is best to fly into London Heathrow or Gatwick airport. If you are flying from Europe Bristol airport is the best option as it is a 15-minute ride to the centre of Bristol. Buses and trains run regularly from both Gatwick and Heathrow. Further details in the transport section.
Train
Trains in the UK run regularly and are very reliable (most of the time). They are more expensive than buses but travel to most major locations around Britain. The train from both Gatwick and Heathrow takes around 1.5 hrs and provide some nice views of the countryside. If you are staying in central Bristol you will want to take the train to Temple Meads Station in Bristol. This will put you either walking or a short uber distance from your lodging in the city. Bus Buses are also reliable and a lot cheaper but tend to take longer. Use the same site for bus tickets on the National Express. Fares are usually around £5-10 for roundtrip tickets to Heathrow or Garwick. The Bristol Coach Station is in the centre of the city and walkable/a short uber to most places in the city.
