FAQs

Question

What documents do I need to travel to France?

Answer

Please bring a Valid US passport - it's safest if it remains valid for at least 3 months beyond your expected departure date as some airlines will not let you travel with a shorter expiration time frame. We will keep an eye out for any future visa requirements as we can’t predict what will be necessary next year.

Question

Do I need to bring cash?

Answer

Cash is not typically required but feel free to bring some Euros if it would make you feel more comfortable or you plan to travel outside of the wedding. We recommend checking foreign transaction fees with your bank or credit card company if you plan to use your card for any purchases including train tickets.

Question

Is it hard to navigate France without speaking any French?

Answer

You can absolutely get around France without speaking French, especially in cities and touristy areas. Many people speak some English, signs are clear, and Google Maps is your best friend. Of course, knowing a few words or phrases always helps! Bonjour – Hello Merci – Thank you S’il vous plaît – Please Bonsoir – Good evening L’addition, s’il vous plaît – The check, please

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

A car is not needed to get to Beaune or to the venue (see travel page for train details) but if do want one, there will be parking available at the venue. Be sure to check with the rental car agency or your insurance company for any required paperwork beyond your standard drivers license.

Question

When will you be arriving?

Answer

We will be arriving earlier in the week to spend a few days in Paris before heading to the venue. We won’t have any activities planned but would love to hangout if you’re there!

Question

What time should I arrive and what time is check out?

Answer

You can arrive as early as 11 AM on Friday, September 25th but please note that we will not have any activities or meals planned until the Welcome Dinner that evening. You can drop off your belongings and explore Beaune or just take some time to relax before the events begin. Please let us know what time you plan to arrive once your travel is booked so we can let you know if any others plan to arrive at a similar time for carpooling. Check out is at 3 PM on Sunday, September 27th.

Question

What will my accommodations look like?

Answer

Guests will stay in bedrooms located across 3 buildings on the property. These will be standard bedrooms with en suites. We will provide your exact room information as we get closer to the date.

Question

Do I need to stay on the property all weekend?

Answer

You are more than welcome to come and go as you please! There will be free time before the welcome dinner (depending on when you arrive) and before the wedding on Saturday so we do encourage you to venture into Beaune if you’d like. If you’d prefer to relax and hangout by the pool, enjoy the sauna or play tennis then feel free to hang around.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We're keeping the weekend adults-only so everyone can relax and enjoy!

Question

What do you recommend doing in the area?

Question

How do I share my food allergies or preferences?

Answer

With all the travel involved in our wedding, we've chosen not to register for physical gifts. For those who feel strongly about giving, we welcome contributions towards our future together.

Question

Do you recommend any hotels in Beaune if we want to stay an extra night?

Answer

We’ve previously stayed at the Logis Hotel de La Cloche and Le Central Boutique Hôtel and would recommend both - they’re right in the city center and convenient for sightseeing. We booked them easily through Booking.com. A few other places that look great and are also available on Booking.com include the Best Western Plus Au Grand Saint Jean, Maison 1896, La Maison de Maurice, Logis Hôtel Belle Epoque, Hôtel de la Poste, and ibis Styles Beaune Centre.

Question

Who can I contact if I have questions?

Answer

Feel free to text either of us if you have any questions not answered on the website. We’re happy to look over travel details or offer any recommendations to make the process as simple as possible.
