Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! Sayulita is in Mexico, so you’ll need a valid passport to travel. Make sure yours is up to date, some airlines require it to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. If you’re renewing, do it early to avoid delays!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

The Welcome Party and Wedding Day will be adults-only. For those bringing children to Sayulita, we recommend sayulitababysitting.com, offering trusted, CPR-certified caregivers who can come to your rental or hotel.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We’ve included attire details on each event page, but here’s the quick version: Welcome Party – Resort Casual: A fun dress with sandals or wedges for women; a polo or button-down with shorts or lightweight pants for men. Easy, breezy, and celebration-ready. Rehearsal Dinner – Beach Cocktail: Tropical cocktail dresses with dressy sandals or heels for women; long pants with a collared shirt for men. Wedding Day – Resort Formal: Beach-chic dresses with block heels, wedges, or dressy flats for women (grass-friendly shoes encouraged); suits or lightweight dress pants with a button-down or collared shirt for men.

Question

How do I get around Sayulita?

Answer

The town is small and super walkable, but golf carts are the way to go! They’re fun, easy to park, and perfect for getting around. We recommend booking in advance since they can go quickly during high season. SayulitaLife.com/golf-cart-rentals has more rental information!

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

Fly into Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR). From there, Sayulita is about a 35 minutes drive. You can pre-arrange airport transportation through shuttle companies or find a taxi or uber at the airport. More details in our Travel section.

Question

Do I need pesos?

Answer

Many places in Sayulita accept credit cards, but having some pesos is helpful for small purchases, beach bars, taxis, and tipping. You can exchange money at the airport or use ATMs in town.

Question

Is Sayulita safe?

Answer

Yes! Sayulita is a laid-back surf town that’s safe for travelers. Like anywhere, just be mindful of your belongings and avoid walking alone late at night. The local vibe is friendly, relaxed, and welcoming.
