We're Getting Married!

We met back in September 2019 through a mutual friend. He had invited me to grab boba with him, Alexis, and a few others. I almost didn’t go because I’m pretty shy, but something told me to just go for it. So I did. Alexis was just as shy as me, but the moment I saw him, I had this feeling — I just knew. I can’t explain it, but something in me said, “That’s him.” After that night, it didn’t take long for both of us to realize we had found something special. And funny enough — there’s actually a video from May 12, 2020, where Alexis says on camera that I was the one and he was going to marry me one day. Just watch it and look at us now! We started hanging out more and getting closer. Around that time, I was working at a burger place just a couple minutes from his job, and he would come in almost every day for lunch. Even on days he wasn’t working, he’d stop by just to see me, grab a drink, and hang out while I worked. And of course… I never charged him for his burger — because he was cute, haha. Then the world shut down because of COVID — and honestly, it brought us even closer. We started spending almost every day together. We’d go on long walks, talk for hours, and hang out with our husky, Turbo (aka our furry son). Day by day, we just fell more and more in love. On June 14, 2020, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. To this day, we still joke about that boba place — how random it felt at the time and how lucky we are that we both ended up there that night. If we hadn’t, who knows where we’d be? But we’re so grateful we took a chance, because now we’re here — best friends, totally in love, and getting married!

Nos conocimos en septiembre de 2019 gracias a un amigo en común. Me había invitado a tomar boba con él, Alexis y algunos otros amigos. Casi no fui porque soy bastante tímida, pero algo dentro de mí me dijo que debía hacerlo. Así que fui. Alexis era igual de tímido que yo, pero en el momento en que lo vi, sentí algo — simplemente supe. No puedo explicarlo, pero algo en mí me dijo: "Él es". Después de esa noche, no pasó mucho tiempo para que ambos nos diéramos cuenta de que habíamos encontrado algo especial. Y lo más curioso es que existe un video del 12 de mayo de 2020 en el que Alexis dice en cámara que yo era la indicada y que algún día se iba a casar conmigo. ¡Solo mírenlo… y mírennos ahora! Empezamos a salir más y a acercarnos mucho. Por esa época, yo trabajaba en un lugar de hamburguesas a solo unos minutos de su trabajo, y él venía casi todos los días a almorzar. Incluso en los días que no trabajaba, pasaba solo para verme, tomar algo y hacerme compañía. Y claro… nunca le cobraba su hamburguesa — porque estaba guapo, jaja. Después llegó la pandemia y el mundo se detuvo, pero la verdad, eso nos unió aún más. Empezamos a pasar casi todos los días juntos. Dábamos largas caminatas, hablábamos por horas y compartíamos tiempo con nuestro husky, Turbo (nuestro hijo peludo). Día tras día, nos fuimos enamorando más y más. El 14 de junio de 2020, Alexis me pidió oficialmente que fuera su novia, y desde entonces hemos sido inseparables. Hasta el día de hoy, seguimos bromeando sobre ese lugar de boba — lo aleatorio que fue en su momento y la suerte que tuvimos de coincidir esa noche. Si no hubiera sido por eso, ¿quién sabe dónde estaríamos ahora? Pero estamos muy agradecidos por haber tomado ese pequeño riesgo, porque hoy estamos aquí — mejores amigos, profundamente enamorados, ¡y a punto de casarnos!
