Lets Get Married!

Jake and Amanda first met at Grice Middle School in 6th grade. There is one lost photo from the time where Amanda accused Jake of photobombing an otherwise great selfie. At this point in time, Jake and Amanda were no more than acquaintances. Their friendship peaked in high school by walking from English class to Science class every day with a mutual friend. While in school together, they would describe themselves as “moderately friends”. They knew many people in similar circles, but they didn’t spend time together outside of school. After graduation in 2016, they lost touch. Two years later in January 2018, they reconnected on social media and after talking for a few days, decided to meet in person for a date at Jesters Cafe in Bordentown. Jake chose the restaurant because he used to work there and wanted to impress Amanda by knowing the staff. They got a free chocolate cake! They stayed in the restaurant until closing catching each other up on their lives since high school and knew their relationship was more than just friendly. They officially started dating on February 3, 2018, when Jake pinky promised Amanda he wouldn’t lose her at an event in Philly. Throughout their 7 years of dating, Jake and Amanda experienced dozens of photoshoots from Sayen Gardens to tulip fields, hikes through forests and up mountain peaks, beach vacations with the Buchner and Grindlinger families, Google Meet movies and Animal Crossing dates during lockdown, virtual graduations, movie premieres that featured Jake’s videography, and renting their first apartment together. All this culminated in a beautiful engagement in Iceland. Jake and Amanda bring out each other’s inner child and can have fun together in even the most boring situations, such as mini golf (a game that Amanda hates), or while doing chores (something that Jake hates). They are both very much home-bodies and will often host their friends at their place, but they especially enjoy spending time together at home, just the two of them. Jake and Amanda are excited to start the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife and can’t wait to celebrate their love with friends and family by their side!
