Childhood sweethearts they say...way back in 2007 little did we know our break time meet ups in the french corridor at Cookstown High School would lead to this.
The weekend started with Emma getting the news, that after years of hard work she had passed her final chartered accountancy exams. RELIEF! From that moment all things started to fall into place. Following months of searching and finding the perfect ring, all was ready for the big surprise. From Belfast to the North Coast, a place close to both of our hearts, there was nowhere else that it could have happened. We arrived at the caravan on Friday evening to enjoy the typical Northern Irish weather which lasted all night- hailstones, wind, rain, sleet - clearly all going to plan. The caravan roof just needed to blow off and it would have been a perfect Friday evening! Saturday morning cleared up and the sun came out, that's when I knew it was time to drop a surprise. "Emma, let's go for a walk," something I would never ever usually say. A quick drive over to Ballintoy and a walk down to the beach, the scene was set. We walked along the beach together hand in hand, very happy and enjoying each others company. We stopped half way along and I eventually got down on one knee to ask the question that was a long time coming. Emma of course said, "Yes," through teary eyes and shock. It was perfect, just the two of us on the beach with a handful of cows watching and a beautiful sea view with the sun shinning down on our happy faces. Bliss!
