FAQs

From travel tips to what to wear in the sand, we’ve put together all the answers to your questions so you can relax, enjoy, and celebrate with us.
Question

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will take place on September 12, 2026, at the Sanderling Resort. The ceremony will be held on the North Beach beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by a cocktail hour at approximately 5:00 p.m. The cocktail hour and reception will take place in the Great Hall.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We kindly invite our guests to join us in formal, elevated coastal attire inspired by the natural beauty of the Outer Banks! Think timeless silhouettes, soft textures, and refined elegance, something that feels special while still comfortable for an oceanside celebration. Our wedding ceremony will take place along the beach, followed by a reception on the lawn and deck, so we encourage attire that is both polished and practical for an outdoor coastal setting. Color Inspiration: Our celebration is inspired by a soft coastal palette of ivory, sand, stone, taupe, muted sage, and other classic neutrals that complement the setting. We kindly encourage guests to avoid light blue tones, as this color is reserved for our bridal party. Most importantly, we want you to feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful yourself while celebrating with us. Women: • Floor-length gowns or elegant midi dresses • Light, refined fabrics such as silk, satin, chiffon, or crepe • Soft, neutral tones or muted coastal hues are especially welcome • Heels, wedges, or dressy flats suitable for sand and outdoor surfaces Men: • Formal suits in black, navy, charcoal, tan, or other classic neutrals • Tuxedos are not required, though formal attire is welcome • Dress shirt with or without a tie, depending on personal style • Loafers or dress shoes in brown or black leather Footwear Note: As our ceremony will take place on the beach, we recommend footwear that is comfortable and stable for sand and outdoor terrain. The reception will transition to grass and decking, so versatile shoes are ideal.

Question

Is the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outdoors on the North Beach, weather permitting. A backup indoor plan will be in place just in case, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for coastal sunshine. The reception will be indoors, with access to the outdoor deck as well.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive by 4:00 p.m. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m.

Question

Is transportation provided?

Answer

We’re still putting the finishing touches on wedding weekend transportation, but here are some easy, beach-friendly ways to get around the Outer Banks in the meantime: Golf Cart Rentals Cruising by golf cart is a classic OBX move, and most are street-legal. If you’d like to rent one, you can receive $35 off with ZoomAround using code TwiddyOBX at the link below: https://www.twiddy.com/obx-golf-carts/ We’ll share any wedding-specific transportation updates here as plans are finalized, stay tuned!

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer
