How we met isn’t so romantic that some may expect it to be… because we were literal kids. We first met each other at Kalaheo Elementary School. A memory I have of Darian is that he actually called me a weirdo because I would laugh on the swings. If you ask him, what was the moment he realized he wanted to marry me, he’ll tell you “it’s many things,” but I wholeheartedly believe that was the moment he knew he wanted to marry me (jk). Fast forward to 20 years later, little did he know he would be marrying this weirdo!

Darian asked Kristen to be his girlfriend

After over 7 years together, Darian finally popped the question. I was completely caught off guard and had no idea. If you saw the video, then you could clearly see that my jaw was on the floor when I turned around. Backstory: We went on vacation to California with the besties Tiani and Wylan. They knew before we went on the trip and helped Darian come up with ideas on where would be a good location to propose. The original plan was to go to Santa Monica Pier during sunset, but the temperature was in the low 50s, and raining. So, change of plans and we ended up going to the Urban Lights at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The whole time I thought we were trying to get cute pictures to post on Instagram. We definitely got Instagram picture to post and even more!
