Drake and I have known of each other for over a decade; however, it wasn't until November 2021 that we connected on a much deeper level. I slid up on Drake's snap chat story asking how basic training and AIT was going for him, and after that day, November 14th to be exact, we never stopped talking. He then came home for holiday block leave on December 19th. I picked him up from the airport where we shared out first kiss and also went on our first official date to the Pistons game with my bridesmaid, Abby, and his groomsmen, Garbs and Mike. On December 22nd, Drake asked me to be his girlfriend and gifted me a promise ring. We spent the whole two weeks of block leave together; went ice skating at Campus Martius, went to Kalahari with my family, experienced our first Christmas and New Years together, and even spent a whole week in my bed watching movies because I got Covid. Fast forward to February, I went and visited him while he was still at AIT in Fort Sill, Oklahoma where he proposed on a cliff top asking me to be his wife on February 21st, 2022. March 19th, I moved to Texas where he was stationed and we moved into our first place together. Lastly, April 1st, 2022, we eloped and became husband and wife. While we did things very fast and quite untraditional, we are very blessed with the opportunity to experience a vow renewal and reception with our closest friends and family to celebrate our everlasting love.
