Our Love Story

Hooters.

Yup...HAHAHA What a way to start the story we have to tell our kids one day (& no, our daughter will not be allowed to work there LOL). We had a mutual friend who worked with Casey at the Hooters, where Dan & Casey met. Our friend sat Dan & his friends with Casey. However, like any girl trying to live her "fun & single summer," Casey wanted absolutely nothing to do with Dan, nor his friends. A relationship was the furthest thing either of us were looking for. Over the course of the next few days, our friend convinced us all to hang out as a group where Casey then noticed Dan. The very next time Dan & his friends came into Hooters, Mr. Romance left his number on the receipt. That summer of 2019, our love story began. A summer filled with late night talks, Nickelback, pool days, puppy love, & new friendships. As time passed & the relationship grew; Casey left hooters to pursue 2 different degrees and then a relationship with God, and Dan shifted his career path and took a dive into his faith. Never did either one of us imagine that we would end up with a “northerner” while living in Kentucky. But here we are... nearly 5 years later, saying "I Do." Over the past few years our relationship has truly transformed. We went from two "old" teenagers without a care in the world, to two adults that love each other, value family, friends, God, and of course- a good glass of wine/bourbon. It is truly crazy how the Lord works all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We live for our summer road trips back home. New York pool days & family cookouts, sandy beaches of Cape Cod with a hint of Boston, & of course, summer nights up in Maine. An escape from reality where we can focus on having fun & making memories with family and friends. It is the highlight to every year, along with date nights, camping trips, daily walks with the dogs, salmon Sundays, Saturday nights with friends, Wednesday night Church group & weekend getaways. In September, 2023, we decided to move out and live separately to walk faithfully with God & help grow our relationship as we prepare for a life together, forever. This experience has challenged our relationship & selves; but ultimately has been the best decision we have made. This does not fit into "societal norm" but it has transformed our relationship for the better. Helping us reset and understand the value of one another, importance of putting God at the forefront of your relationship, create a new age of "puppy love," & helped us obtain a full grasp on what it means to begin a life as husband and wife. Our wedding is something very special to us and we absolutely can not wait to say "I Do." we are excited about making that vow in-front of God, with all our friends and family present. Our “big day” will include many many people who are not from Kentucky, nor have ever been to Kentucky. We hope that our favorite people experience & see the love that we have for this state and our home.
