FAQs

The Wedding Website of Elizabeth Halstead and Christopher Tyler
Question

What is there to do at Kingsmill Resort?

Answer

Kingsmill offers two renowned 18-hole golf courses, indoor and outdoor pools including a lazy river, 15 tennis courts, a spa for those looking to relax and rejuvenate, bike rentals, and marina rentals including jet skis, kayaks, paddle boards, and more.

Question

Can I bring my children or a guest with me?

Answer

If we did not include your child’s name or add ‘and guest’ to your invitation, we prefer just you come to celebrate with us.

Question

I'm a history buff, where do I begin?

Answer

The Historic Triangle is in our backyard. Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown Settlement are 3 great spots for tours. We recommend a ghost tour after dark in Colonial Williamsburg.

Question

Any Sunday Brunch recommendations?

Answer

Following a night of fun, brunch is always the answer! We recommend Blue Talon, Craft 31, Amber Ox Public House, or Aromas Coffeehouse and Cafe. Williamsburg has arguably the most pancake houses per capita, so take your pick if you're looking for more of a diner experience. As for coffee and to-go bites head to The Bake Shop near Merchant's Square.

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

We suggest arriving at least 15 mins prior to the ceremony (4:45 pm) in order to find your seat and get comfortable before everything begins.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and from the hotel?

Answer

If you have opted to stay in a hotel offsite there will not be transportation provided. We have reserved rooms at Kingsmill Resort, within walking distance of our venue, to allow guests the convenience of walking to and from our wedding weekend events in order to fully enjoy the open bar on Jim Halstead's dollar!

Question

Local bar recommendations?

Answer

A popular spot for barhopping is located on Scotland Street across from The College of William and Mary's football stadium. The most popular spots for locals and college students alike include Paul’s Deli (cheese fries with ranch or a Hot Holly sub are great for a late night snack!), Brickhouse Tavern, Green Leafe Cafe, and The College Delly.

Question

Any other restaurant suggestions?

Answer

Williamsburg is home to many great restaurants, it's hard to pick just a few! Some additional family favorites include La Tienda (Spanish Tapas), La Terraza (Mexican), Old City Barbeque, Masala Craft (Indian), and Anatolia Bar & Grill (Armenian-Turkish-Mediterranean).

Question

What plans do the happy couple have following the wedding?

Answer

We have planned a honeymoon in June to Antigua. Following our honeymoon we will return home to Richmond, VA where Lizzie is a physical therapist with Pivot Physical Therapy and Chris is a principal auditor with Capital One.
