We first laid eyes on each other in the 6th grade in the halls of Berkeley Middle School. There's something about Aeropostale apparel and going through the perils of puberty that really brings a couple together. For Chris, it was an immediate attraction. Was it the impeccable fashion choices of the early 2000s (the popped collars on Lizzie's polos, the overly straightened hair, the Birkenstock clogs, or the flare jeans?), we’ll never know. For Lizzie, Chris was initially just a goofy friend that happened to share the same birthday, March 25th. Fast forward to high school, Lizzie started seeing Chris in a different light. It must've been his dark tan from working at Water Country USA all those summers. While we stayed friends over the years, we didn't start officially dating until junior year of college when Chris asked Lizzie to be his girlfriend after her grandmother's 80th birthday party with a romantic, "So, you wanna do this?" Over the past 7 years we've mastered the art of the long distance relationship while attending different colleges and grad schools. It wasn't until Lizzie got word that she'd be moving back to Virginia for her final clinical rotation that Chris got down on one knee in front of the Governor's Palace in Colonial Williamsburg surrounded by both of their families and proposed. We are so excited to say "so long" to long distance and begin this next chapter of our lives together in the presence of our closest family and friends.
