The Proposal
Josh planned a weekend away for us to Bald Head Island in early September. He is the best at picking AIRBNBs and this time he knocked it out of the park. We arrived to Bald Head Island off the ferry Friday night and walked into the most beautiful beach home I've ever stayed in. A fun fact about Bald Head Island is that there are no cars allowed on the island and no locks on the homes! The island was rainy all weekend. On Saturday the 7th, we cooked, rode the golf cart around, toured the island's lighthouse and chapel, and watched corny Hallmark movies. Once the rain let up a bit, we headed to the beach. There was only one family in sight as far as you could see in both directions and Josh set up the tripod to "take a picture of us" once they left (something we often do with a timer on my phone). He got down on one knee and captured the whole proposal on video. I of course said YES! We hope to visit Bald Head Island again many times in the future and now consider it our special place.
