Porto Airport is the closest airport to Braga, located about 60 minutes away by car or just 40 minutes by train. We recommend flying into Porto to begin your journey it's a great opportunity to explore the beautiful north side of Portugal. For your return, consider flying out of Lisbon Airport, giving you the chance to discover the charm of southern Portugal as well. Of course, you can also do the reverse! This approach helps you make the most of your time and is often the most cost-effective option.
We HIGHLY recommend renting a car while you’re here—it’s the best way to make the most of your trip! The highways in Portugal are super easy to drive, and the views along the way are beautiful. You’ll find both stick shift and automatic cars available to rent. Having your own wheels means total freedom to explore charming little towns, hidden beaches, and all the pastel de nata stops your heart desires. Trust us—you’ll love the adventure! While we highly recommend it, there's no need to worry—Portugal is an easy country to navigate. The train system is reliable, affordable, and connects most major cities, including Braga. There are Ubers available (very affordable) in major cities including Lisbon and Porto.
