In the summer of 2019, Ricky messaged Kat. She didn’t respond right away, she was on a trip, life got busy, and enough time passed that Ricky almost gave up. But one night, they finally decided to meet up for a late-night showing of Fast & Furious. From the start, everything felt easy. There was no awkwardness, just good conversation and lots of laughs. Having crossed paths as teenagers made it feel natural rather than forced. About a month later, on September 6, 2019, Ricky worked up the nerve to ask Kat to be his girlfriend, with a little confidence boost from his best man, Jon. It happened at a bar (very romantic). From that point on, they started building a life together and celebrating so many firsts as a couple. Over the years, they’ve shared the highs and lows, losses and milestones, graduations, birthdays, and holidays. They’ve faced challenges that helped them grow both individually and together, and every step of the journey has been worth it. On December 18, 2025, they were heading out for Kat’s birthday to see the Christmas lights at the Breakers mansion. Ricky led her to a quieter spot, took her hands, and got down on one knee. He thanked her for helping him grow into the man he is today and for leading him closer to God. She said yes right away, already tearing up and smiling. It was a really special moment, made even more meaningful knowing that their sisters, Krystianna and Savannah, had helped plan the night. Now, they’re so excited to celebrate their love with their friends and family in Guatemala. Love, Kat & Ricky 🤍
