Gunnison - Crested Butte Regional Airport

Flying into Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is the most convenient travel option to Crested Butte. From Gunnison, you will need to rent a vehicle for a short 30 minute drive North to Crested Butte. Or, if you don't mind walking, you can make your way to the free bus (Gunnison RTA) from Gunnison to Crested Butte (note that the closest bus stop is located .75 miles away from the airport - but again, it is a free alternative). Although flying into Gunnison is the more expensive option, it is the best recommendation for traveling to Crested Butte.

Denver International Airport

Flying into Denver International Airport (DIA) offers the cheapest plane tickets available. From there, you need to rent a vehicle and drive 255 miles west to Crested Butte. Although this is the cheapest option, the 4.5-hour drive takes some time out of the visit.

Grand Junction Regional Airport

Flying into Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) is a cheaper alternative to Gunnison. After flying into Grand Junction, you will need to rent a vehicle to drive the 3 hours southeast to Crested Butte. You can also take the scenic (and slightly longer at 4 hours) route over Kebler Pass to CBMR from Grand Junction. The pass road is mostly dirt with a few bumps, but it is a gorgeous alternative!
