Brett and I both went to Widener University. He was a year ahead, and while we had mutual friends and chatted here and there, nothing really sparked — until graduation night. That night, I was at Maggie May’s, the sticky-floored college bar known for cheap drinks and loud music, when Brett walked in. We ended up shouting over the noise, laughing about life after college, and losing track of time. The next day, I got a text from him: “Breakfast burritos?” Now, anyone who knows me knows I don’t turn down a good breakfast burrito—ever. I said yes without thinking twice. Before I knew it, we were sitting in a little burrito joint, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite. And that’s how it began: a dive bar and a breakfast burrito that sealed the deal.
