Things To Do

Since our wedding falls on a Friday, it’s the perfect excuse to turn your visit into a mini vacation! San Diego has plenty to offer—whether you’re into beach days, brewery hopping, epic hikes, or just eating your way through some of the best tacos in California. We’ve put together a list of our favorite things to do, so whether you’re staying for the weekend or making a full getaway out of it, you’ll have plenty of ways to soak up the sun and explore America’s Finest City. Check out our recommendations below and start planning your adventure!

FeverUp 📲

If you’re looking for something to do in San Diego that’s not the usual tourist stuff, FeverUp is where it's at. It’s the app Morgan used when she first moved to San Diego to pretend she knew what she was doing (and meet people who also didn’t). Morgan and Mikey still use it for date nights because it finds cool, off-the-beaten-path events that aren’t plastered all over social media. Check it out, because who wants to do the same old thing every weekend? Favorite things so far have been the True Crime Mystery Tour, Concerts Under the Stars, Little Italy Wine Tasting Walking Tour, iFly Indoor Skydiving, and Kayaking in La Jolla. Click "View" below, you'll receive a voucher for $8 off your next adventure!

Counterpoint 🍸

830 25th Street, San Diego, CA 92102

Morgan and Mikey's first date was at Counterpoint, and it set the bar high! With craft cocktails and a cozy vibe, it’s the perfect spot for a laid-back yet trendy night out. Whether you're looking to try something new or just enjoy a well-made drink, it’s a must-visit! Highly recommend the sweet chili shrimp and shishito peppers!

San Diego Zoo 🐾

2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

Okay, maybe we’re a little biased, but the world-famous San Diego Zoo is absolutely worth a visit. It’s right in Balboa Park, so you can make a full day of exploring!

San Diego Zoo Safari Park 🦏

15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92027

If you’re up for a short drive, the Safari Park in Escondido offers a completely different experience—think massive open-range habitats, rhinos roaming, and even a zipline over the savanna. Definitely worth the trip if you have the time!

Fernside 🍻

1946 Fern Street, San Diego, CA 92102

Fernside Bar is where we go to kick back, relax with a cold drink, and catch a game. It’s casual, cozy, and always a good time. With its laid-back atmosphere, fantastic cocktails, and plenty of sports on the screens, this spot has become one of our go-to’s for a chill night out. If you're looking for a relaxed, inviting place to unwind and enjoy the game, this is it!

USS Midway Museum ⚓️

910 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

Step aboard the USS Midway for a journey through naval history! This aircraft carrier-turned-museum has over 60 exhibits and 29 restored aircraft to explore. It’s a fun, interactive way to learn about military history while checking out a historic ship.

Turf Supper Club 🍖

1116 25th Street, San Diego, CA 92102

Turf Supper Club is a favorite of ours for a reason—great food, great drinks, and the kind of vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. From classic cocktails to a solid menu of comfort food, it’s a perfect spot for a date or hanging out with friends.
