Wedding Party

Meet our nearest and dearest friends and family who will be with us as we say "I Do."

Allegra Learn

Maid of Honor

Hannah met Allegra in gym class in Kindergarten. Allegra was afraid of Hannah because "her glasses made her look like an alien." When Hannah began attending Allegra's mom's daycare, they became close friends. They remained friends against all odds when Hannah left to attend a different school and continued to spent time together, particularly during the summers that they spent together in middle school. Allegra even had her own bed in Hannah's room at one point. The two girls have spent endless hours watching cartoons, baking brownies, making music videos, and laughing until they cry. Through each phase of life, the two have always been fully themselves when they are together. As adults, they have been there for each other through all of life's ups and downs, taking turns serving as the other's shoulder to cry on. The two know each other better than anyone else and consider each other more of a sister than a friend. Allegra has been an important part of Hannah's life for as long as she can remember (almost 20 years now), so asking her to be her Maid of Honor was the easiest decision to make after she said "yes."

Manual McClary

Best Man

Manual is Nathan’s cousin. Growing up together, they had a relationship more comparable to brothers. Nate would cry when Manual wouldn’t let him borrow a DS game and tell Manual he was controlling the enemies when Nate would play a single-player game. The two would argue about everything for fun, calling it simply “discussing”. As they both grew, their relationship grew to be more than just fighting about video games. Nate learned that he could always rely on Manual and decided that he would always be there for Manual as his big brother. Manual followed him to RIT 4 years later and the two would frequently see one another. Whether it is jumping-starting a car outside of a closed car garage, helping a friend move into a new apartment, or taking the same side in a debate (in the rare event that they are not debating with each other), the two brothers always have each other's back. Manual and Hannah have also developed a close, sibling-like relationship in the years that Nate and Hannah have been together. They are both excited for Manual to take on such an important role in the wedding as best man.

Elaina Conklin

Bridesmaid

Hannah and Elaina became fast friends when Elaina joined Hannah's class at Houghton Academy during their junior year of high school. The two quickly realized how much they had in common and how easily they got along. Hannah convinced Elaina to join the cheerleading squad, and they spent countless hours together in and out of practice. They have gone on a number of adventures together, including walking almost five miles in the pouring rain during their senior trip to Ocean City, NJ. They bonded over their shared interest in Marvel and have attended multiple movie premieres together, though Elaina's poor sense of time made them late for Avengers Endgame. The girls have taken turns giving the other advice and have maintained a close relationship despite both of them being really bad at answering texts. Elaina has always been a supportive presence in Hannah's life, so she knew she needed her at her side at her wedding.

Sawyer Fries

Groomsman

Nate’s first memory of Sawyer is the day he learned what happens when you repeatedly make fun of someone's last name after school in elementary school (you get stabbed in the shoulder with a pencil). Another great memory is buying the “Terminator Salvation” game before middle school. The two quickly became friends. After seeing “Marvel’s Avengers” in theaters in 2012, they made a pact they would always see any new super movie, as soon as possible. This became a tradition the two honored until they moved away for college. After two riveting campaigns, the two became Class Presidents. They ruled benevolently and even partook in a rap battle in front of the whole school. When things got heated between them, they never stayed mad at each other longer than a day. Even though the two live far away from each other now, they still try to put time aside to game for hours as they used to every day after school. The wedding will be an exciting reunion for the partners in crime.

Saani Sanford

Bridesmaid

Hannah met Saani on the school bus when she was in sixth grade and Saani was in eighth grade. Saani very quickly made Hannah feel welcome and included, and she brought her out of her shell by engaging her in conversation daily. Saani's outgoing personality allowed the two to become friends despite Hannah's shyness, and that personality has allowed for numerous laughs and adventures since then. Saani has continued to encourage Hannah to explore outside of her comfort zone, helping her create unforgettable memories. Hannah and Saani share their love for Taylor Swift and dogs, and they have bonded over both. Hannah can always count on Saani to make any experience fun, and for that reason she knew she needed her at her side at the wedding. Hannah can't wait to party and dance the night away together with Saani.

Carson Clarke-Magrab

Groomsman

Nate met Carson when he joined RIT Jam Club. The two bonded over music and loved sharing it. They worked together in planning several open mics and performances. They began hanging out outside of Jam club, enjoying late night youtube binges and snowstorm drives to the movies. Nate would tag along when Carson would work out, glad to have found someone to work out with and to help him feel less alone. Nate wouldn’t be obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons today if Carson hadn’t persistently asked Nate to join his multiple attempts to start a campaign. Eventually one was successful, and Nate and Hannah had their first DnD experience together as Scorge and Loralei. These two characters are a major part of their early relationship and Hannah and Nate cherish them. They are both excited to see their original DM again.

Elise Poorman

Bridesmaid

Elise and Hannah met on the first day of sixth grade and quickly became friends. Throughout middle and high school, they had many sleepovers and adventures together. In seventh grade, they joined the cheerleading squad together as managers, attending every practice and competition and becoming thoroughly obsessed with all things cheer. The following year, they both tried out and made the varsity squad. Each year during cheerleading season, they spent everyday after school together at practice and games, and many weekends at competitions. They served as co-captains together beginning their junior year. Outside of cheerleading, the girls had their highs and lows, but always ended up back at the same place- each other's side. Hannah is thrilled to have Elise to hype her up at her wedding.

Matt Peterson-Volz

Groomsman

Nate and Matt met in middle school. The two had common interests, so it only made sense that they became friends. They would talk about a plethora of lore and other things throughout the day, even having friendly competitions that their peers would laugh at them for. In High School, Nate would get daily rides with Matt’s family, as they lived a short distance from one another. They would go to the park and ride bikes blindfolded or play manhunt through the night. Once Nate began to play the bass guitar, a musical duo was formed. Matt played keys for the first ever recorded “The Bass Song” performance. They played in many different bands together. Nate was always happy that their sense of humor blended so well. When there were no plans for a talent show senior year, they decided to plan one (mainly so they could perform in it). Some of Nate’s favorite memories are the times the two would spend hours together at Tim Hortons when he was home from college. Nate is excited to laugh and sing together at the wedding.

Lea Spencer

Bridesmaid

Hannah and Lea became friends when Lea began working at Hannah's first job, Dunkin' Donuts. The two spent many early mornings together working the opening shift and passed the time by listening to The 1975, sharing stories, and exchanging notes that they would write on the back of receipts and stick into each other's back pocket (fun fact: despite the fact that both of them had left Dunkin' years before, Hannah saved and used a receipt note to ask Lea to be in the wedding). Though they began as work friends, they quickly became friends outside of work as well. The two have spent time together attending parties, doing photoshoots, and even building gingerbread houses. Lea is always there to hype Hannah up, and she is extremely excited to have that energy at her wedding.

Tony Bacchetta

Groomsman

In 2016, a group of students were walking near each other after First Year Writing when one suggested that the four of them attend the board game night that was happening in the SAU. Slowly but surely, the four of them became close friends playing board games each week. Tony and Nate were two of these friends. Nate considers Tony to be one of his nicest friends. When Nate was struggling with loneliness and lack of activities his freshman year, Tony invited him to watch The Walking Dead at his brother's house. This became a weekly activity for many years. For every new nerdy movie in theaters, Nate and Tony would go with a group of friends. All these game nights and movies have continued to this day, and Nate and Tony regularly “hang out” online. Nate looks forward to one of Tony’s classic hugs at the wedding.

Megan O’Brien

Bridesmaid

Hannah first met Megan at the wedding of a family friend, and quickly realized that they had a lot in common. Soon after, they, along with a group of their friends, began playing in a weekly Dungeons & Dragons campaign, of which Nate is the DM. This weekly campaign turned into a Sunday tradition that is well loved by them all. During these wonderful Sundays, Hannah and Megan continued to discover their similarities and shared interests, and began to bond. Overcoming their mutual shyness, they decided that they wanted to be friends, and began spending time together at the studio of Megan's boyfriend, Paul. Hannah finds that time passes very quickly at the studio, as Megan and Paul are very easy to talk to, and she is always having fun. Though their friendship is young, Hannah cherishes it and looks forward to making many great memories, including all of the upcoming wedding celebrations!

Austin Francis

Groomsman

Austin is Hannah’s cousin, and they grew up together, spending a part of nearly every summer at the lake with the rest of their family. Nathan first met Austin at Hannah’s lake house, first interacting when they would go tubing with Austin’s father. Their first big moment was when Nate convinced Austin to play Dungeons and Dragons. What started as a simple game went for hours into the night. This became a common trend for Nate and Austin. Each time they were at the lake Austin would say “Do you wanna play DnD?” and they would play until 4 am. Once Nate decided to ask Austin to be his groomsmen, he knew he had to include DnD. Hannah helped him write a note, which they made to look like a scroll, burning the edges with a lighter to make it fit the fantasy world of DnD. It took Austin a little bit to realize what he was being asked, but he graciously accepted. Nate and Hannah look forward to many years of playing board games with Austin in the future.
