Flight
Bordeaux has a lovely airport, and it is absolutely possible to fly into it from America. Don't forget to factor in time zones--you leave America one day and arrive in France the next! Flying into Bordeaux on a single carrier is very convenient and a great option, but unfortunately these transatlantic flights tend to be on the pricier side. If interested in saving some money, we recommend a small travel hack. We recommend booking TWO separate portions of travel: A transatlantic flight into Brussels, London, or Paris, and then a budget flight on Ryanair or Easyjet to Bordeaux. This should save quite a bit of money, and gives you an option to explore gorgeous cities! Just be sure that for London and Paris you're booking flights from the same airport you're flying into, or factor in time for a small commute. If you're flying in from Europe, you've got it easy! Just hop on an Easyjet, Ryanair, or Air France flight from your nearest airport.
Travel Note
Have some time to get to Bordeaux? Consider flying into Paris, renting a car, and taking a leisurely drive down to Bordeaux, passing through the beautiful Loire Valley on the way. There are so many châteaux in the area, it feels like you're almost tripping over them! Château de Chambord is the most famous (and rightly so!), but consider taking a few days and stopping by Château de Chenonceau or Château de Villandry (Claire's favorites!). We recommend staying at Domaine de la Maison Neuve in Saint-Jean-Saint-Germain or Le Mousseau in Chaumont-sur-Tharonne.

Whether you're flying into Bordeaux or taking the train from Paris (or somewhere else!), there's still a short trip from Bordeaux town to the venue. You have a couple of options - Rent a car: The most straightforward option, and gives you liberty to come and go as you please! - Take a taxi: The drive from town to the venue is just about an hour, and this is also a good. Please note that taxis BACK to Bordeaux are very limited (and there's no Uber...) - Public Transport: There are trains from Bordeaux central station to the train station in the village of the venue (Station Name: Saint-Aguilin-La Roche Chalais), with the direct train lasting 52 minutes. These trains go 3-4 times a day during the week, but only twice a day on weekends.
