Psalms 1:1-3

April 22, 2023, is a day that will forever live in the memories of the future Dobbs. This is the day that Averi Temple and Conner Dobbs would meet again. You heard that right! As a matter of fact, they both attended Permian High School and even served as executive members of the student senate together for two years. You may be wondering, “Is that where it all started?” and the answer to that question is no! Whether Conner was too shy to pursue a friendship with the beautiful girl or Averi was too intimidated by his rugged good looks and charm, no one may ever know. Fortunately for them, God had other plans! On Friday, April 21, 2023, three years since the two had formerly spoken, Averi traveled to Waco with some dear friends to attend a church conference. The following day, Averi and the others met up with Conner to take a tour of Baylor’s campus. As the story goes, that tour quickly became a trip to get ice cream, a tour of the greater Waco area, and Conner joining the girls for their dinner plans with their friends from the conference. Conner couldn’t seem to get enough of the pretty blonde goofball as he continuously asked her questions throughout the night, destroyed her in a handstand contest, and Griddy danced with her across the Waco suspension bridge. Apparently Averi enjoyed her time as well, because after the weekend had concluded, she slid into his Instagram DM's. Many texts, conversations, dates, and a ring later, here we are now. Praise God! Our story is one that showcases God’s perfect timing and incredible goodness towards His children. We have no doubt that God always intended for us to meet again in 2023 and, in doing so, prepared us accordingly. We ask that anyone who reads our story or thinks of us would pray for our marriage. We are nothing apart from God, and we are eager to serve Him together for the remainder of our earthly days.
