Flying to Long Beach Island

The closest airport to Long Beach Island is Atlantic City (ACY), which is roughly 45 minutes south. Newark International (EWR, 87.3 miles, approximately 1 hour, 20 minutes) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL, 68.7 miles, approximately 1 hour, 30 minutes).

Travel Note

The Bus to LBI from NYC & Philly

There is bus service (http://lbibus.com/) directly from NYC and Philadelphia making stops in Manahawkin (at the Mainland Holiday Inn) and other stops on Long Beach Island. This bus also makes a stop at the Newark or Philadelphia airport if you’re meeting friends or need to catch a plane home! Make sure to purchase tickets for the bus ahead of time.

*Preferred high end hotel* Hotel LBI is a gorgeous high-end option for guests wishing to stay on the island. It's about an 18-20 min drive to the Friday Welcome Party (transportation not provided), and a 5 min drive to our Saturday wedding (transportation provided for guests staying here to and from the wedding).

Holiday Inn Manahawkin/Long Beach Island, an IHG Hotel

*Preferred mid level hotel (off island)* Mainland Holiday Inn is a great option for guests. Please note this hotel is not on LBI (~10 drive away). We have blocked rooms for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. It's about a 25-30 min drive to the Friday Welcome Party (transportation not provided), and a 10 min drive to the Saturday wedding (transportation provided for guests staying here to and from the wedding). Guests can make reservations online by indicating the dates they wish to stay, several code boxes will appear. Next input group code in box and select search. You will be directed to the group block and availability in the block will appear. Choose the room type and continue with making your reservation. Guests can also call the hotel in Manahawkin, NJ directly (do not use the 1-800 phone number). These blocked rooms are available until April 16, 2024.

Drifting Sands Oceanfront Hotel

*Preferred mid level hotel (on island)* Drifting Sands Oceanfront Hotel is a great option for guests who wish to stay on the beach! It's about a 15 min drive to the Friday Welcome Party (transportation not provided), and a 5 min drive to the Saturday wedding (transportation provided for guests staying here to and from the wedding). Guests should call hotel directly 1-609-494-1123 when making reservations and to request the Smith - DeRiso group rates ($210/night). Please book your room on or before, April 18, 2024.

Surf City Hotel

We have blocked a total of 15 rooms at the Surf City Hotel. Please make your reservation by February 16th, 2024 to be part of this block. After this date, rooms will no longer be held under the group block, and rooms will be subject to availability. It's about a 15 min drive to the Friday Welcome Party (transportation not provided), and a 5 min drive to the Saturday wedding (transportation provided for guests staying here to and from the wedding).

Sea Horse Motel

We have 15 rooms blocked for guests wishing to stay at the Seahorse Motel. It's a short 5-10 minute drive to the wedding venue and we will be providing guest transportation leaving form the parking lot of Daddy Os (right across the street). Rooms are $179 - 199 with a 2-night minimum stay. Please call the hotel and let them know that you are booking for the Smith/DeRiso wedding. We will be providing transportation for guests staying here to and from the wedding (buses will pickup and drop off guests from the parking lot for DaddyOs right across the street).

Travel Note

House Rental

If you'd like to rent a house, we recommend Vacation Rentals LBI, Airbnb and VRBO. Book a house in Ship Bottom, Surf City, North Beach, Harvey Cedars or Loveladies to be closest to the wedding festivities! NOTE: Beach Haven (not to be confused with Beach Haven West) is on the opposite side of the island and NOT a convenient location to book in. We recommend booking a house nearby the hotels listed above if you’d like to take advantage of the hotel wedding transportation.
