If you know us well, you probably already know how our story began – but it’s one of our favorites, so we’re excited to share it with you. In June 2023, both of us happened to be sailing through the Mediterranean on a family cruise. While exploring Rome, Ivana stopped by the Trevi Fountain. Like many dreamers before her, she tossed in a coin and made a wish for love. She wished for someone adventurous, someone who loved to travel, who was kind, family-oriented, funny, and deeply loving (not a small ask, but she figured if you’re wishing at the Trevi, you might as well aim high). Wanting to be sure she’d recognize this person when he appeared, she also asked the universe for a clear sign. That very night, she met Adam, and well… she got her sign. We met the old-fashioned way – locking eyes across a bar on the cruise ship. From that moment, we spent three unforgettable days together, talking for hours under the stars and bonding over our shared love of music. When it was time to part ways, Adam booked a flight to the U.S. to see Ivana again. Soon after, Ivana was on a plane to England to visit his world. We were all in from the start. It sounds incredibly cliché, but it’s true what they say: when you know, you know. From the very beginning, we chose love without question. We never worried about the 3,000 miles between us – in fact, it never even came up. We just knew we’d make it work. Over the next 18 months, Ivana’s flight anxiety (and our bank accounts) were put to the test as we traveled back and forth between the U.S. and England, spending weeks or even months at a time together. Twelve months later, we found ourselves in Italy again, where Adam proposed at Villa Melzi in Lake Como. On Valentine’s Day 2025, we officially said “I do” at the Miami Beach courthouse, just the two of us. Now, we can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of you and say our vows surrounded by the people who mean the most. – Mr. and Mrs. Delbridge-Smith
