The dress code is Black-Tie preferred. For men, tuxedos or dark-colored suits are recommended. For women, long gowns are recommended, however sophisticated cocktail dresses and jumpsuits are also appropriate. Note: The wedding colors include bridesmaid dresses in a dark red wine color.
The ceremony will be held at The Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, the seat of the Archdiocese of Washington. Because we are not both Catholic, the ceremony will not be a full Catholic Mass, and will be around half an hour with no Communion.
Parking is available at the hotel, but it is also not recommended as the area is very walkable and convenient to other hotels, restaurants, and the Red Line on the Metro via DuPont Circle Station. Ride-sharing apps such as Uber and Lyft are also readily available and typically low-priced for destinations around the city.
The church and hotel are about five blocks apart, with the route being straight down M Street NW and very walkable. Due to the delay between the ceremony and the reception, recommendations will be provided between the church and hotel for guests who can’t wait to get the celebrations started!
