Despite having both attended James Madison University from 2010 to 2014, Zach and Madi’s paths did not cross until after college. One weekend in the fall of 2014, Zach decided to visit one of his friends in Arlington, Virginia. This particular friend happened to be one of Madi’s closest friends, and he introduced the two of them that weekend. However, with Madi living in Arlington, and Zach in Richmond, the two said their goodbyes after that weekend each returning to the busy lives of their own. Zach and Madi would not see each other again until one year later, in September of 2015 where fate (by the name of Josh Reid) brought them together once again. Zach and Madi began to make the trek up and down interstate I-95 every weekend as their love and admiration for each other’s contagious spirits grew. After 11 months and many miles spent on the highway, Madi moved back home to Richmond, VA where the two have shared a home with their dog, Cash, for the last 3 years. In December of 2020, Zach surprised Madi on their dating anniversary with an intimate proposal in the home they share. She, of course, said yes after the initial shock wore off that people can in fact, get engaged while wearing sweatpants. After a quick outfit change, Zach surprised Madi with the arrival of her siblings and a celebratory evening with both of their families. We are so excited to welcome you to Richmond, Virginia as we prepare to begin the next chapter of our lives. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
