This is a famous bridge for local Austinites as it is located on the side of a cliff in the Austin hill country and overlooks downtown Austin. The views are great, the photos are even better, and this is the place where Andy and I got engaged!

Wanting to rent a boat and go tubing on a 63.75 mile lake? The views are magnificent and there are great islands to park a boat and cliff dive off of! Very fun atmosphere to escape the Texas heat
Great views, okay food. This is a great place to stop for maybe just ice cream and a great view off of a complete glass balcony (looks like you can fall through- don’t go on if scared of heights). It makes for great photos and a beautiful sunset. You can walk around, shop, get ice cream, etc! It’s like it’s own little town.
Want to be lazy for a day? Rent a tube in New Braunfels (an hour drive outside Austin) and float down a long river with fun slides and rapids! May get crowded in September, but a great experience. Make sure to bring rope to tie tubes together (if with other people) so you don’t lose each other in the long river!
Enjoy Sixth Street, a popular street in Austin known for its live music and night life!
This excursion is a fun one. According to experts, Austin is home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. Approximately 1.5 million bats have made the Congress Avenue Bridge their home. Come summertime, the bats can be seen each evening at dusk as they emerge for their nightly excursions to rid the city of pesky insects. It's nearly impossible to be unimpressed by the nightly mass exodus. It is completely free and has a beautiful view of the bats and an Austin sunset over the Lake. To make it even more interesting, take a sunset cruise to watch them fly out from on the water!
