Question

Why are you getting married in the middle of nowhere in Northern Cal?!

Answer

It is not lost on us that traveling out West for our wedding weekend is both an investment & time commitment for our family & friends. We know that Westport, California is a long ways from home! Ultimately, we wanted to share a really special place & experience with our loved ones in celebration of both our love & commitment to one another, but also with those who have supported us along the way. This past year has been so difficult. And isolating. We hope that a weekend in California may give people an excuse to get away, enjoy some beautiful views & share in the opportunity to come together again, after sitting inside our own homes & so dearly missing those moments of connection. If making the trek out to California doesn't align with your own life commitments & obligations at the moment, please know THAT IS OKAY--We completely understand, and we will celebrate with you in our own way at some point!

Question

Anything we should know about regarding Covid-19?

Answer

The safety of our friends and family is our number one priority. We respectfully request that family & friends attending our wedding weekend please either have received their COVID-19 vaccination at least 10 days prior to coming or to have a negative COVID-19 test 48-72 hours prior to November 12th, 2021. Please check back to this page for updated details regarding COVID-19 regulations. Below is a link to Mendocino County's recommendations for traveling to the area and any mandated restrictions. www.mendocinocounty.org/community/novel-coronavirus

Question

Are we allowed to bring our kids?

Answer

Due to the number constraints of our venue, we humbly ask our friends & extended family that this be an adult-only weekend with the exception of our nieces & nephews & breastfeeding babes. We love your kiddos so much! But thought you may enjoy a free weekend for you and your significant other!

Question

Where is the closest hospital in the area in the event of a medical emergency?

Answer

Adventist Health Mendocino Coast 700 River Drive Fort Bragg, CA 95437 (707) 961-1234

Question

Should we be concerned about wildfires?

Answer

Being on the coast, fortunately wild fires have not historically been a problem in the Fort Bragg/Westport area where the wedding will be. However, it's important to stay up to date for the drive to the coast, and we advise guests to check for updates of any recent or ongoing fires prior to their trip. For up to date information regarding California wildfires, please visit: www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/

Question

Anything we should know about for the drive along Highway-1 (Pacific Coast Highway)?

Answer

The safety of our friends & family is our priority. We recommend when planning your trip to plan to reach Hwy-128 & Hwy-1 before sunset for 2 reasons: This is the most scenic part of the drive, with sprawling countryside, redwood trees and California coastline. But more importantly, these highways have many windy passes with curvy turns and can be dangerous to drive on, particularly at night. We also strongly encourage those who are not staying in Westport to use the provided transportation to & from the wedding to ensure a safe ride home, Parking will be available at Switzer Farm on the northwest side of the house if you choose to drive.

Question

What should we expect the weather to be like?

Answer

All wedding festivities will be held outside. Guests should be prepared for cool, windy weather. Mendocino is on the Northern California coast and it is chilly so please bring something to keep you warm and consider appropriate shoes for an outdoor ceremony. Heaters & blankets will be provided to ensure guests stay warm!

Question

What is the dress code for the weekend events?

Answer

Friday (Wedding Welcome): Dressy casual Saturday (Wedding Day): Semi-formal Sunday (brunch): Come as you are!

Question

Do you recommend planning a destination during a historic pandemic?

Answer

No. Hell No. But it will TOTALLY be worth it & we are over the moon to celebrate our big day in such a special place with our favorite people!
