It all started in the summer of 2017, at history camp hosted by our high school in upstate New York. We were just 16 and 17 at the time, but from the moment we met, something clicked. We instantly became best friends—talking for hours, often staying up on FaceTime until the sun came up. It didn’t take long for everyone at school to catch on that John had a crush on Jamie… everyone except Jamie, of course. Eventually, the message got through—and in December 2017, during a group trip to see Jumanji (the one with Kevin Hart and The Rock), John finally made his move. From that moment on, we were inseparable—even when life put miles between us. We spent our college years doing long distance, trading weekends and bus tickets just to spend time together. COVID unexpectedly gave us a gift: remote learning meant more time in the same place, and we soaked up every second of it. After graduation, John moved back to Long Island and we both ended up working just 20 minutes apart, and life felt full-circle again. Over the years, we’ve made so many amazing memories—traveling to places like Mexico, Spain, and Hawaii, and feeding our shared obsession with escape rooms wherever we go. (Fun fact: we’ve completed nearly every room on Long Island and have a success rate over 95%!) Then, on our seven-year anniversary—December 21, 2024—John proposed & it happened to have been during the very first snowfall of the season. It was a true winter wonderland, and it felt like it was the ultimate sign from above that this was right, and this was forever. From history camp to forever—it’s been a wild, fun, and beautiful ride. And we can’t wait for what’s next.
