Maid of Honor
Fabulous teacher, singer and my best friend. We found each other freshman year when fate paired us up as dorm-mates in Whitney Hall. Our friendship has gone well beyond our Chico State days, and Kelsie has always been there for me. Whether it be to discuss a teaching challenge, quote a “Friends” episode, give decorating tips, drink wine, head to Target, or plan a weekend trip together, Kelsie is my right hand gal. I am honored she agreed to take on the role as my Maid of Honor.
Matron of Honor
Kind, strong, and faithful. Cait is my first and forever friend. Our connection was forged in 1st grade when Cait’s mom took care of us before and after school. Since then our lives have been intertwined with joint family trips, shared milestones, and celebrations. Caitlin isn’t just a friend, she’s my sister. No matter how much time has passed between us, it always feels just the same when we see each other. I am honored to have her as my Matron of Honor.
Bridesmaid
Independent, beautiful, and brave. We were Chico Alumni who were newly-employed and freshly-single girls in San Francisco when Kelsie introduced us. We instantly connected. Most of my favorite memories in the city have Angie in it. Angie is consistent and caring. I know that I can always count on her to show up early, share her gummies, talk openly about Harry Potter, and be just as competitive as myself. She is a true friend.
Bridesmaid
A spiritual, no nonsense, hilarious friend. I have had the honor of knowing Lauren since our freshman year at Chico State. Lauren also grew up with Matt, and she is the one responsible for introducing us. I can always count on Lauren for good times and countless laughs. I trust that she will always give me an honest opinion. She is a great friend.
Bridesmaid
A wonderful, talented, fabulous sister-in-law. Stephanie is the wife of my brother, Kyle, and the badass mother of Jacob, Lucas and Emily, my two nephews and niece. Stephanie has been a part of our family for 15 years. Since the day we met, I have thought of her as a sister. She is fun and loving and keeps our family positive! Whether it’s a dance party, a car ride, or a quiet night in, Stephanie can always make it a memorable time. I love her and I love that she will be by my side on our wedding day!
Ring Bearers
Jacob and Lucas are our sweet nephews. Jacob is a bright, intelligent and outgoing 5 year old. Lucas is a kind, courageous and silly 3 1/2 year old. They have stolen our hearts since the day they were born, and we can’t wait for them to steal yours when you see them walk down the aisle!
Best Man
My Dad and I share the same passion for the outdoors, an addiction that has been passed down from generation to generation in our family. Something that I hope to one day share with my children and grandchildren and I can tell them that I learned the majority of it all from my Dad. We have lived in separate states for most of my life but have always made an effort to talk on the phone, plan trips and visit as much as possible. My dad has always been just a phone call away to help me fix something on my truck or around the house, talking a hunting technique, give me advice on women, or just to tell me a funny story. We have the same sense of humor, look basically the same (especially when I grew out the stache) and I wouldn't want anyone else to stand by my side on our special day.
Groomsman
We met back in the little league baseball days, I think Matt only got to play because his dad was the coach but he was a critical player in winning the championship game our 12 year old year. A controversial story that we laugh about every time we get together. He had the quickest hands at the lunch table and if you were not paying attention your piece of pizza would have been snatched out of your hands in the blink of an eye. Through middle school and high school we terrorized the iron horse trail on our bikes, skateboards and gopeds. While we went separate ways in college we always stayed in touch and made effort to hang out whenever possible. Matt will give it to you straight but he is also willing to take the heat just as much as he dishes it out.
Groomsman
We met while parking lot pimpin' back in high school. While contemplating how to be grown ups, both of us made the wise decision to enroll at the Harvard of the West (AKA Chico State). We lived together 3 out of the 4 years that we were there and have countless memories together. I got the pleasure of introducing Chalmers to my passion of hunting one time. The night before we got about 1 hour of sleep, drove for 2 hours in the foggiest conditions that you could imagine, he dropped his brand new iPhone in the pond, his first kill was an illegal bird and we ended up taking a nap on a mud island. It is safe to say that was his first and last hunting trip!
Groomsman
We first met at our Bid Day for the Fraternity freshman year. Dustin rolled up in his brand new Audi, aviator sunglasses, tight jeans resembling the exact look of "dude" from Socal. First impression was not good because the first few times we partied together he he would rip his V-neck T-shirt off right down the middle of the V. At the time I did not think that this would be someone that I would grow close to. We worked closely together in the fraternity educating pledges which was one of our favorite pastimes. We lived together in The Cottage and grew much closer during that time. Aside from him almost killing one of the other Groomsman while shooting clays, it has been all love and laughs when hanging out together.
Groomsman
Ken and I met in the fraternity. I was supposed to be "educating" him at the time but ended up taking him out duck hunting instead while all his other pledge bros were getting terrorized back at the frat house. I quickly knew that Ken would become one of my close friends as we both shared the same passion for the outdoors. Since then, we have made many memories in the field with his black lab Casey by our side. Ken is one of the most loyal people that I have ever met and puts the needs of everyone else around him over his own each and every day. When we go to visit him and his wife, Leslie, they are always make us feel extra welcomed and we are grateful to have an amazing friendship with them.
Groomsman
We met our Sophomore year of college through our mutual friend Ken. We instantly became friends as we both shared that sick addiction to hunting that not all of our other friends had developed yet. We have many hunting/camping trips on the books to various locations throughout California and Utah. Ken and I thoroughly enjoy making fun of Spencer for beginning to pack for a hunting trip weeks in advance while using a spreadsheet to track items. In turn, we end up hauling a month worth of supplies on a 7 day trip, across multiple state lines and leave most of his crap in the truck when we get there as it was not necessary to begin with. I look forward to making many more memories in the blind with Spencer and his sidekick Lou for years to come.
Groomsman
Kyle is the loving father of our 2 nephews Jacob and Lucas and our beautiful niece Emily. I remember when Kyle helped me move Justine's belongings out of her SF apartment when Justine and I moved in together and he asked if I had ever lived with a woman before? The smirk on his face made me believe that I was in for quite the surprise living with his sister but fortunately it seems that Justine has matured into a much better roommate than the one she was while growing up with Kyle. We enjoy talking fantasy football strategy over a nice IPA and I'm looking forward to having another new brother.
Officiant
Dan is Matt's Stepfather and one of our favorite people. We share the same love for the outdoors, traveling and sweet treats. We can always count on Dan to make any situation comfortable with his good humor and ability to talk to anyone. Officer Dan has been there to drive us home after our many days of wine tasting together, and always makes sure to give us a warm cup of "cowfee" and a tall glass of "wahter" the next morning. After we got engaged, we didn't have to think hard for who we wanted to marry us. Dan has a special place in both our hearts, and we knew he would be the perfect man for the job.
