Multnomah Falls
One of the most stunning sights in the Hood River area and the most beautiful waterfalls in Oregon is the picture-perfect Multnomah Falls, just west of Hood River, along the Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byway. If you have time to see only one waterfall, this is the one. Tumbling 620 feet, these spectacular falls are framed midway by narrow, tree-covered rock walls, and spanned by the Benson Bridge.
Historic Columbia River Highway
Take a leisurely drive along the Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byway and stop off at some of the spectacular sites along the way. The striking cliff walls and dramatic waterfalls, along with some high viewing points, are the main highlights of this drive. Two of the key attractions, where you'll want to stop off for a closer look, are the 1918 Vista House on Crown Point, offering fabulous views over the Gorge, and the 620-foot Multnomah Falls. Other impressive falls along here include Latourell, Shepperd's Dell, Bridal Veil, and Wahkeena. Off the highway are numerous hiking trails and the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, for pedestrians and bicycles. Some of the areas along here allow access to the river, where you can get right down to the water and see the high banks on the opposite shore. Allow yourself considerable time, at least a few hours or even a half-day to do this drive. It's a slow drive, and you'll also want to stop and see the sights.
Hit the Hiking Trails
Hiking around Hood River offers access to a mix of scenery, from hikes along the Columbia River Gorge, leading to waterfalls or high lookout points, to mountain scenery around nearby Mount Hood. In the fall, the yellow and orange foliage offers a completely different look to the landscape. The most popular hikes throughout the hiking season are to the spectacular waterfalls, including Wahclella Falls, Dry Creek Falls, Eagle Creek Trail, Multnomah-Wahkeena Falls Loop, and Tamanawas Falls. Some hikes leave right from campgrounds along the Gorge.
Mt. Hood Winery
“Come for the wine, stay for the views” is the motto for Mt. Hood Winery. Step into the tasting room and you’ll see why. Following five generations of fruit growers in the Bickford family, brothers Steve and Don Bickford opened the Mt. Hood Winery and tasting room in 2009, exactly 100 years after the founding of the farm. The wide range of wines included in their tasting give you a chance to enjoy the full range of the Columbia Gorge wine region.
Mt View Orchards
Enjoy the gorgeous scenery and views of Mt. Hood as you head out to Mt. View Orchards. Pick your own apples, visit the pumpkin patch, enjoy a hayride and visit the famous Carlos the Steer. It’s the perfect place for some good ole fall fun.
Hood Crest Winery and Distillers
Stop at Hood Crest Winery for excellent wine, stunning views and some of the best wood-fired pizzas around. At Hood Crest Winery, you’re likely to hear winemaker Tess Barr jamming with her eponymous blues band. After all, the recording studio and record label are right there on the property. You’ll get an unparalleled experience — gorgeous views of Mt. Hood, rockin’ music, hot pizza right from the wood-fired oven and stellar wines.
Mount Hood Railroad
Train Ride Enjoy a historic, unique train ride through the Lower Hood River Valley.Leaving the valley floor you will cross and ride along 3 miles of the lower main fork of the Hood River while we navigate a 3% grade that takes you on one of only five switchbacks remaining in the United States. All the while, you’ll be enjoying peek-a-boo views of Mt Hood, Oregon’s tallest peak. 2.5–3:0 hours total Railbike Experience Custom-built, two-person railbikes offer the ultimate immersive railway experience. Enjoy pedaling a railbike leisurely on the train track through some of the most picturesque scenery in the United States. After crossing a bridge, you will meander along the Hood River towards Mt. Hood, through pine trees, next to a small waterfall, past a rare switchback, and through to orchard & vineyard country. The motorized two-person/tandem bikes are designed to climb up the valley with minimal effort, so you can carry conversations with ease. The trip takes approximately 2.4 hours.
Indian Creek Golf Course
Indian Creek Golf Course, your number one option for a round of golf in Hood River, Oregon. Full-service facility is situated in the beautiful Hood River Valley, where it is surrounded by orchards and wineries. Golfers at Indian Creek enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Hood to the south and Mt. Adams to the north. Views of the majestic snow capped peaks follow players throughout the entire course. The club is a strong tradition, and the name Indian Creek comes from one of three meandering creeks that pose interesting challenges on many of the holes. This is a must-play course.

The WAAAM Air & Auto Museum has one of the largest collections of still-flying antique aeroplanes and still-driving antique automobiles in the country. The items on display at this museum are not only full of history, they're full of LIFE! Enjoy over three-and-a-half acres of indoor exhibit space.
