Mount Emily Recreation Area
A beautiful mountain area with an abundance of trailheads for hiking and biking. Sophie spent a lot of time on these trails growing up. Worth checking out!
The Local
James's favorite coffee shop in La Grande. The Local has both a great patio to relax on and an excellent indoor space. Their craft coffees and pastries are delicious. You cannot forget about their phenomenal ice cream!
Antlers Espresso
Sophie's favorite coffee shop in La Grande. This is a drive-thru-only coffee shop, but it is definitely worth checking out.
Side A Brewing - Public House
Side A Brewing is a small brewery located in the old La Grande Firehouse, and it carries a lot of history with it. This is a great spot to grab some food and a draft beer (or cider). Sophie recommends the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger, and James recommends the Truffle Fries.
Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort
In the winter, this is a great ski resort, but in the summer it is a beautiful recreational area with lakes, hiking, and beautiful mountains. It is a bit outside of La Grande (approximately 35 minutes), but it is entirely worth the drive.
Cove School
Visit where Sophie went to school! Cove School is located 15 minutes outside of La Grande. The small school holds many memories for Sophie.
