FAQs

The Wedding Website of Valerie Womble and Michael Brooks
Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence on our special day truly means the most to us and is more than enough. If you still feel inclined to give a gift, we’ve set up a Honeyfund to help us celebrate our honeymoon, which we plan to take a few months after the wedding. The destination is still to be determined, but we’re excited for the adventure ahead.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 3:45 PM to allow time to get settled before it begins. Please note that you will need to check in at the guard gate upon arrival, so allowing a little extra time in case of delays is recommended.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, the dress code is Coastal Formal. Think elevated and polished with a relaxed coastal vibe. For men, this could include suits or dress slacks with a jacket, and ties are welcome but optional. For women, floor length or cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or elegant separates are perfect. The ceremony will be outdoors, cocktail hour will be both indoors and outdoors, and the reception will be inside. Since the wedding is in December, attire can be a bit weather dependent. Layers, jackets, or wraps are a great option to stay comfortable while still keeping the coastal formal look. The goal is polished and festive while being comfortable for a beautiful coastal setting.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love all the kiddos in our lives, space is limited and the celebration will be more of an adult setting. Children of close family members are the exception. If their names are included on the invitation, they are absolutely welcome to join us.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes. Please see the Travel tab for more details. We have a block of rooms reserved at the Residence Inn on Amelia Island, along with a few other nearby hotel suggestions. There are also plenty of additional options on the island, including other hotels as well as Airbnbs and VRBOs if you prefer a vacation rental.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Our caterer is wonderful and happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies. Once formal invitations are sent out, you’ll be able to note any allergies or special requests on your RSVP so they can plan accordingly.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, parking will be available. We will also have shuttle service from the Residence Inn for guests staying there. If you prefer to be dropped off, rideshare options such as Uber and WRYD are also available.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Out of town guests will be invited to a Welcome Pour the evening before the wedding. It will be a casual gathering with light bites, beer, and wine, giving everyone a chance to relax and connect before the big day. We also plan to be around throughout the weekend to spend time with our guests and enjoy the celebration together. As plans come together, we’ll be sure to keep everyone updated.
