Yes -The State Fair of Texas is in process. If you have never been, it really is a lot of fun BUT we recommend avoiding it Saturday morning, during the TEXAS-OU game. A better time to go to the Fair would be Friday or Sunday.
There is shopping and great restaurants. On Saturday morning, there is a Farmers Market. If you are staying at the Holiday Inn, the shuttle is free to the square. But don’t have so much fun, that you forget to come to the wedding!
