From Kaylee's perspective: We had planned to go to Birmingham, Alabama on a Friday night to spend the night at Jacob's sister's (Nichole) house before heading to Memphis to watch the Boise State vs. Memphis football game. Nichole asked me if we would like to join her and her friends at a local winery once we made the 3.5 hour drive after work. Now, if you know me, you know I am not a night owl. I was trying my best to stay high energy but, my goodness, I was being asked to go out at 8:30pm! Anyway, I was rallying when, randomly, everyone was really interested in the backyard. When I walked out there, I was surprised with the most beautiful arrangement of string lights, candles and a white flowy backdrop. That's where Jacob got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Well, at least I think that's what happened... I blacked out! Jacob's perspective: I finally had the ring in possession to ask the big question, now it came down to when and where. After buying the game tickets and remembering we were staying with my sister in Birmingham, I thought I would give her a call and ask for some sisterly advice. We decided on a wine evening so Kaylee would be in something other than her usual lounge wear. Nichole ordered and set everything up lovely in the backyard. While Kaylee was getting ready for "wine night", I patiently waited for her outside. I will always remember her surprised face and saying "yes" to the question. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you on August 31st!
