The Wedding Website of Justin Weber and Nancy Anderson
Washington, D.C. is a wonderful city with a ton to do. We'll be partying late on Sunday so we'd suggest at least staying Sunday night and leaving Monday, but we definitely encourage everyone to arrive early and enjoy all that D.C. has to offer.

Hotel

Courtyard Marriott D.C./U.S. Capitol

1325 2nd Street Northeast
Washington, DC 20002

We have a limited courtesy block at the Courtyard Marriott for Saturday and Sunday night. Just book through the link here and you'll receive the wedding group rate. The block will be open until Sunday, September 22 or until it fills up. This hotel is steps from the NoMa metro (and the ATF building) on the Red Line with is just two stops from the wedding dinner stop (Brookland) and only a few stops from downtown DC. This is a great option for folks who want to be close to the wedding events, but also close to sightseeing. If this hotel doesn't fit your needs, we'd recommend looking at the Renaissance Downtown DC for those looking to be even closer to the National Mall or researching some of the many hotels in Silver Spring, Maryland for those looking for options outside the city, but still on the Red Line and close to the wedding events.

Travel Note

AirBnB

For the most affordable places to stay in the city closest to the wedding events, we recommend renting a house or apartment through AirBnB. Our events are in local neighborhoods and there aren't hotels within walking distance. We'd recommend looking in the Petworth, Takoma Park, Brightwood, and Brookland neighborhoods if you're looking to be close to the wedding events and not right in the city. If you're looking to be closer to downtown and more nightlife and sightseeing, we'd suggest Logan Circle, Dupont Circle, Shaw, and Capitol Hill.

Travel Note

Car Services

The easiest way to get around D.C. is by Lyft, Uber, a cab, or another car service. We prefer Lyft, but we encourage everyone to make sure they have their preferred service ready to call on their phone. If you rent a car or drive your own, you'll have to pay a lot for parking (typical overnight fee at a hotel is $40 a night and all-day parking at downtown garages is $25 or more) and you may have trouble finding parking in the city. There is typically parking in the neighborhoods around Primrose and Jackie Lee's, but it's not guaranteed.

Train

DC Metro Red Line

D.C.'s metro system is a convenient way to travel from neighborhood to neighborhood. Rides cost between $2-3 per trip. If you're looking to stay near a stop, look for something near the Red Line. Our wedding events will be closest to Red Line stops (Brookland for Primrose and Fort Totten for Jackie Lee's; you may need to take cabs from the stops) and the Red Line also takes you through Union Station, Gallery Place, and Metro Center. All three of those stops are hubs to change trains and close to sightseeing.

Flight

Which Airport to Fly Into?

DC has 3 airports within an hour of the city, DCA (called National or Reagan), IAD (Dulles), and BWI (Baltimore). We always recommend flying into DCA whenever possible. It's a quick 20 minute ride to just about anywhere in the city, there are always cabs there (typical fare from DCA to the city is ~$20), and you can catch the Metro there. Also, when taking off and landing you get the full view of all the monuments from the air. Dulles is 45 minutes to the west of the city by car (longer with traffic). There is an express lane on the highway that goes there, but beware that if you get off it, you'll get right onto a toll road. It does have a Metro line that goes there, but it's an hour long ride to get into the city. Cab fare to the city can easily be $60+. Baltimore's BWI is 45 minutes north of the city. It doesn't have a Metro line that runs to it, only Amtrak. Cab fare to DC can easily be $70+.
