The story of how this wedding came to be starts at another wedding. In 2014, Nancy’s close college friend, Sara, married Kiernan, who has been friends with Justin since pre-school. In one of those “it’s a small world” moments, Nancy recognized Justin from a music festival a year earlier and conversation ensued. Enamored, Justin asked Nancy to dance and spent the rest of the night talking about Jenny Lewis, Fleetwood Mac, and great concerts. ‘Round midnight, Justin stepped off the elevator and nearly fumbled - “find me on the internet,” he said in a rush. To his fortune, by the time he walked back to his hotel room, he had a message, a number, and a request for new music. Many emails and texts, several playlists, and two weeks later, Nancy and Justin went on their first date (and Justin got Omar’s approval for the first time, too). After many trips back and forth between DC and Durham, a vacation in New Orleans, and a job search that ended unsuccessfully, Justin went to his boss and asked to work remotely from DC. “I love this woman and I have to give it a real chance. Will you help me?” Justin asked. And with that, nearly a year after they met, Justin and Nancy lived a few blocks apart in DC. The next year, they moved in together and the next they bought a house. After four years of pushing each other, growing and learning together, and realizing that opposites not only attract but balance well, we knew it was forever. Justin proposed on the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain in October 2018. We’re excited to make a commitment and celebrate that with you all this fall. #TheAndersonWebers #JustWannaHyphen #FromJustinToNancy #DoingItForTheDog
