Their lives began to intertwine thanks to a simple “like” on Instagram. She was starting nursing school in Southern California, and he, a Florida native, was serving in the military. What started as a bold DM evolved into a profound, friendship and long-distance relationship. They lived for every 6-to-8-month reunion, navigating time differences, demanding careers, and the ultimate test: a full year without seeing each other in person during his deployment to Korea. When his service ended, he made the ultimate commitment. He drove across the country, moving his entire life to California to be with her. Every mile of that drive represented the end of the distance and the start of their shared life. Their shared life reached major milestones in 2023 when they bought their first home together and quietly tied the knot in an intimate courthouse ceremony. While they initially kept their union small, her father insisted that a journey this long and resilient deserved a grand celebration; now, they are excited to finally gather everyone they love to honor the life they’ve built.
In February 2020, Tyler planned a surprise straight out of a movie, taking her to Seal Beach for a romantic sunset gondola ride through the canals of Orange County. As they drifted along the water, she noticed a glass bottle bobbing near the boat with a message tucked inside. She reached into the water to grab it, initially thinking it was a lucky find, but as she opened the note and read the heartfelt words Tyler had written, she realized it was meant just for her. When she turned around, Tyler was on one knee in the middle of the gondola with a ring in his hand. Surrounded by the quiet water and the glow of the sunset, she said the easiest "yes" of her life. It was a perfectly romantic moment that served as the bridge between their years of long distance and the shared future they would eventually build within the walls of their first home. We’re beyond excited to finally share this official special day with all of our friends and family.
