Passport Requirement

Please confirm your passport is valid for the duration of your stay in Scotland. For folks tacking on additional visits to their trip, we encourage you to research passport requirements for those destinations as well, as some countries require that your passport have a minimum of 6 months validity from the date of your departure.

European Travel Authorization

There is a new travel authorization form that must be submitted and approved prior to your European travel. THIS IS NOT A REQUIREMENT FOR UK TRAVEL. However we are noting this here for any additional trips you might want to tack on. Please refer to the link to reference which countries will require this additional step before entry.

Flight Information

You have options! Glasgow and Edinburgh airports are the closest to our venue. London is also a great option to consider and might have more affordable direct flights from the US (this is a slightly longer train ride away at about 4.5 hours - but I bet it's scenic!).

You should have received a card in your invitation that indicated we are holding a room for you (and your family if applicable) at Auchen Castle. We have exclusive use of the castle for our wedding, please confirm if you would like to book a room by contacting Thea at 626.840.0069 or via email at theargoddard@gmail.com by 12/1/2023. RATE: £159 - 239 per night depending on the room, please contact Thea to confirm. Payment to be sent to Thea by Venmo (@Thea-Goddard) to help streamline payments for the venue, please send by 5/1/2024.

Shuttle

Charter Bus from Edinburgh to and from Auchen Castle

June 20, 2024 1:15 pm - 3:00 pm

For bridal party, immediate family and select guests who wish to stay at Auchen Castle: we are setting up a charter bus from Edinburgh to the venue to be dropped off at the time we are allowed to check in. Exact pickup timing & location to come, please RSVP so that we can get a headcount. We will also arrange a return shuttle back to Edinburgh for Auchen Castle guests.

Train

Edinburgh Train Option | Transpennine Express

This will be the best train option from Edinburgh and is about an hour long journey! You would board at the Edinburgh Waverley station and get off at Lockerbie. Once you arrive, you can call a taxi to the venue or your accommodations in Moffat.

Glasgow Train Option | Transpennine Express

This will be the best train option from Glasgow and is also about an hour long ride! You would board at the Manchester Airport station and also arrive at Lockerbie where you can call a taxi to take you to the venue or Moffat accommodations.

London Train Option | Avanti West Coast > Transpennine Express

It looks like the quickest route to Lockerbie would require two train rides. You would first board the Avanti West Coast from Euston to Manchester Piccadilly, and then board the Transpennine Express to Lockerbie. In total you're looking at approximately a 4.5 - 5 hour journey.

Taxi Information

Paul will be our go-to taxi man for all Moffat transportation needs for the weekend, and we have confirmed he is able to pick up folks from the Lockerbie train station as well.
