June 10th holds a special place in our heart as it is the day we went on our first date back in 2017. Every year we celebrate our “first date-aversary” by going on a date and reminiscing about the first time we met. June 10th, 2021 was no exception. We ate at a local restaurant called Dockside Inn, which is nested right on Lake Cadillac and made our way home. I (Sara) noticed Mike talked an absurd amount at dinner but thought nothing of it. Once home, I made my way to the fridge to put away leftovers. Just as I turned around Mike said “Sara I have a question for you.” I thought this was weird as we were the only two people in the house, and he never called me Sara. I whipped around and my heart was racing (for whatever reason). He proceeded to say “there’s a lot of stuff I want to say, but I can’t remember what it is.” He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After about 10 minutes of complete shock of course I said YES. It was an intimate moment surrounded by our fur babies in our first home, and it was so special! Moral of the story: it’s okay to forget your lines 🖤
