Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines are both great airlines to fly to Maui. Guests will want to fly into Maui- Kahului Airport (OGG).
We will be choosing Alaska Airlines for a few reasons. First, we have a credit card for them (apply to get a buy one get one companion fare for taxes and fees) and they fly directly from SMF to OGG. We can e-mail a special offer for this, just let us know!
Our tentative plan is to be in Maui for a week before and after the wedding.
Plan to stay on the West Side of Maui in either Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kahana, Napili, or Kapalua.
My personal recommendation would be Kaanapali if you would like everything in one place: beach, activities, food and shopping, For a more relaxed stay I would recommend Napili, their beach is less crowded and more secluded.
Additionally, you will most likely want to rent a car as West Maui is about a 45 minute drive from the airport. Don't forget to stop and stock up at Costco!
